Today we left Subway Marcoola feeling very saddened for a junior team member. She was clearly very new possible the first or second shift. When we arrived she was on her hands and knees hunched over scrubbing the grout in the tiles in the main entrance. She was asked to come and make our subs which she was very unsure of and was left with no help or guidance. We then sat to eat and she was told to go back to the scrubbing. We were there for 30 minutes and she was on her knees with no knee support hunched over and scrubbing. She wasn’t given any cleaning gloves to wear and it was clearly hurting her back as she kept getting up to stretch it.
This just seems so cruel and we all felt so sorry for her as the other 2 team members were talking. I understand cleaning is apart of the job but I feel she is not learning the food skills she needs while on the floor scrubbing grout all shift. Not to mention the workplace safety of her positioning and hands in the cleaning products without protection.
If this was my daughter I would be furious that this was her initial experience in a new job. This should have been a time for education and food...

SUBWAY why keep your store open until 9pm when your customer walks in at 8.36pm and told your closed. Clearly marked on the door 9pm closing time. I was staying at the Ramada resort opposite and checked out the closing time earlier in the day so planned to turn up before closing.
The one girl working there had already cleaned up the work station and all foodstuffs packed away. Obviously knocking off early. If you dont have the clientele at that time of night then close much sooner and save some cash on paying your...

I don’t understand why the Subway here at Marcoola was closed before 5pm on a regular Friday afternoon, even with 3 staff inside the store. The sign on the door read that it was open until 9pm. Apparently their reason was because a guy did not show up to work. We couldn’t believe this was the case, what terrible customer service (because there was none) and very poor work ethic (if that’s even the truth).
