With friends booked to join us for lunch on Thursday 23rd January while we were staying in Mooloolaba, we decided to treat everyone to a Pizza lunch and having confirmed with reception at our accommodation that this was quite normal (just be in reception at delivery time) duly booked online with Pizza Hut.
Making sure that we were waiting in reception ahead of the 12:00 - 12:15pm delivery time, but 30 minutes later, track my order showed Pizza hut was still making it!
We called the Kawana Waters shop, to be told the driver was already here, but he didn't have the right order, quite confusing. Going outside the hotel we found a young guy getting out of an unmarked car. He reached into the front footwell and brought out some cold pizzas and sides, referenced on his phone to a different order and name which he tried to deliver to me even though he knew it was either, not my order, or at best, only part of it, and cold. With the Kawana Waters shop still on the phone, and the app still showing the pizzas being made, we asked what was going on and were told they had problems with drivers that day. After some discussion, we understood Kawana Waters would check with their manager to make a new order which we could either pick up or they would deliver. They would phone straight back.
That never happened, and when we phoned back ourselves 15 minutes later, Kawana Waters was still planning on "asking my manager". He then offered a refund, which we confirmed would be acceptable and asked whether they required any further details to facilitate the refund. Despite communication with Pizza Hut’s contact centre and Kawana Waters, that refund has failed to materialize, but it is still possible for Pizza Hut to honour the agreement and make good on the refund
No doubt Pizza Hut will discuss with that young driver strategies on how he might in future better meet the object of pizza delivery by seeking out the recipient rather than merely arriving at the location and relying on the customer seeking him out. We imagine also that Kawana Waters will want to review their procedures so that "track my order" receives the correct prompts, enabling the customer to know when that delivery has arrived. We were disappointed this shamble disrupted our plans for the day, if it were another provider, we might have been concerned that our money was gone, but we expect better from Pizza Hut, it has been our "go...

After relocating from Brisbane to Buddina, I’ve given this particular Pizza Hut several chances, but enough is enough!
This place is seriously bad. I’ve always had great experiences with Pizza Hut in the past, but this location is on a whole other level, easily the worst by far, and completely below standard in every possible way.
Every single time I’ve ordered, the toppings have been a joke. I’ve paid extra for double or even triple servings of my favorite toppings, and it always looks like there’s even less than a normal amount!??
And that’s just a side note!
The first time I ordered, I waited almost two hours!? So I rang them and they told me it was delivered. No cars had come through, no knock, no nothing, no sign of anything. They did re-deliver it, but I had to wait another 45 mins for that! So that's almost 3 hours for very very average pizza.
A few months later, I gave them another shot, and the exact same thing happened!? Seriously? And I don’t live somewhere with like a weird address, it’s not a complex, or even a duplex, or anything like that. Super easy access, normal address. I get deliveries all the time without issues. So that was pretty weird to happen twice?! And this is again after waiting like well over an hour too. When I rang up I was pretty chocked to get the exact same story a last time?
Fast forward another few months, and my partner decided to order from them. I warned him not to, but he figured it would be fine. It took over an hour to arrive, and this store is literally within 2km of our house. When it finally showed up, his pizza was totally wrong, he had ordered a meat-heavy pizza and got a veggie one that had like no toppings on it. We were both shocked at how bad it was.
That was the final straw for me. I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt multiple times, but this location is just completely hopeless. Literally the bare minimum when ordering food, actually receive it, and get something even remotely close to what you paid over $50 for!

Read moreWhile it is bad enough that they can't get an order correct but when it takes almost 10 minutes to get a refund because 'they don't have any change' is possibly the biggest joke we've heard today.
The store is open from 11am to 11pm, so we find it completely unlikely that there isn't $5 in the register and to make an already unhappy customer wait while someone runs of to change a $20 note to be the worst way possible to handle the situation.
Then, to continue to make an unhappy customer wait longer, even after new customers have come in and handed over change to pay for their order, only goes to antagonise the unhappy customer further.
The manager of this store is a disgrace and we strongly recommend that you choose another location if choosing to order take away food in Kawana.
Good service isn't hard folks and it will guarantee repeat business whereas bad service, as we know, gets far more publicity and traction.
We certainly won't be returning to experience bad service at Pizza Hut Kawana any time soon and hope you'll...
