Buddina Eating House — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Unfortunately we didn't have a great time here. The fish cakes came out on time and were really tasty. Also our first waitress was friendly. Then we didn't get our mains for ages, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. My 8 year old ordered fried rice with no carrots or peas, and when it arrived with carrots and peas I informed the second waitress of the mistake. She asked me if I wanted her to pick them out...(???) I asked if we could please have a new one cooked with no peas or carrots, but after half an hour it still didn't arrive. My kid was really really hungry by this point. I took my other son to the toilets and came back to find still no dinner for my 8 year old but they'd given him icecream instead. I appreciate this was out of kindness but noone wants their picky eater to be served an icecream before their food arrives. After an hour of waiting for food, we had to leave because my 8 year old was tired and hungry and now crying. I packaged up our partly eaten meals and waited in the car with my kids, while they finally prepared the fried rice and we drove home for him to eat it. They tried to charge my husband 50 dollars more that what we owed. I'm not sure why, but I'm glad he picked it up. We also got charged for a soft drink that didn't arrive. Then we got a 5 percent discount so that cancelled out the softdrink charge. All in all it was a bit disappointing. Our first waitress was good though. I don't really like writing bad reviews and I've worked in hospitality so I know sometimes things get messed up but also we paid $120 for a rare night out to celebrate father's day and we didn't get to finish our meals because we couldn't get a fried rice within an hour for our kid, so I probably...

Having driven up from brisbane to have lunch at this restaurant, i booked a table using their online booking system early morning. At midday I received an email back to say system could not confirm due to everyone busy etc. I then rang the restaurant at 12.20pm and spoke to a lady for 5 minutes booking a table outside etc, spoke to her about being a byo as they used to be, also discussed the set lunch menu they used to have etc. My booked was confirmed. Upon arrival at the restaurant we where greated by a young girl that didnt know anything out our booking, then had to wait 5 minutes for the manager (?) to come out and say is there a problem. Really! I explained the situation, and here reply was sorry we are fully booked, our online system is down. When i said we had spoken to someone 30 minutes earlier, her reply was no, you must have rang the wrong number, the phone has not rang. This is incorrect, as i double checked the number. We went here last Saturday night 24 Feb 2024. We were unfortunately late for our 630 booking and called to alert staff.

Staff were extremely accomodating when we arrived.

We order the Grilled Beef wrapped in betel leaves for entree plus the bao buns with pork to share. The beef dish was exceptionally fresh and flavoursome so good. The pork on the bao buns was a tiny bit dry but still good.

Our mains came out a little early but staff were very accomodating and positive. They returned them to the kitchen. The Steamed snapper was a huge fillet lovely melting flesh very soy and strong ginger just how I like. The red curry was exception again just the right amount of heat. The coconut steamed rice was so good we wished we had ordered more.

We sidnt realise the Apple Salad was a full meal initself with a choice of meat. We had delicious prawns and a taste of the salad. We took this home to enjoy for lunch the next day packed full of fresh ingredients.

Servings were so big we will probably share next time.

Chatted at the tabled till close and staff were brilliant.

Lovely to sit near the Water and feel the sea breeze...
