By far the most beautiful café In Coolum, if not the whole Sunshine Coast! And the best coffee on the coast without a doubt! I got there on their opening day at 9 AM, and there were already loads of people waiting for it to open. The service was friendly and very smooth. Exceptional for their first hour trading! I ordered on the QR code from my table outside, but one of my friends who I bumped into, was getting take away coffee and she ordered at the counter. Both of us got our orders in a very timely manner. My breakfast tasted amazing and the coffee!? The coffee was the best coffee I’ve had on the coast by far! The vibe was sensational! I bumped into several people that I know through work or friends, everyone was chatting together. Dogs are welcome outside, mine enjoyed his puppacino very much! My mum had a ham and cheese croissant and a coffee, which was like $13. I opted for the Eggs Benedict, a large coffee & puppacino which was about $30 in total. My eggs were perfect, the hollandaise was second to none - the presentation was fantastic! Absolutely worth every cent! I will probably go back this weekend as there are at least a dozen things on the menu that I want to try! This is the social gathering spot that Coolum really needed! With the best coffee, food and an amazing men to boot! I would give 10 stars if I could - I...
Read moreFinally, a local cafe that has it all - great food, great coffee, and great service - its the holy grail of cafes, so often you find a local cafe with one or, two, but all of the above is rare on the Coast, in my humble opinion. This cafe feels very comfortable and at ease with itself, something that only comes with expertise and experience. My 3/4 length almond latte was perfectly executed, as was the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. And my almond friand with lemon and blueberry was excellent as well, with just the right amount of moisture and sweetness, with a delicate and soft texture. Plus the place was pumping when I visited, which adds to the atmosphere, doesnt hurt either that the joint has light and breezy aspect to it, with plenty of under cover outdoor seating, and Moroccan style arches throughout to lend a faintly Mediterranean aspect to the place. Come for the wonderful Sydney sourced Gabriel coffee, but stay for the ambiance and the atmosphere. The service is good too which makes you feel that you are in good hands, and have arrived at the right place. The coffee might be from Sydney, but the atmosphere is all Melbourne, and I mean that in the nicest possible way - calm, confident, capable - it might sound easy to achieve but it most...
Read moreMy first eagerly anticipated visit to the newly opened Coolum Social cafe. Unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. Firstly, a positive, the refurbishment is excellent, very tastefully decorated and designed however the outside could do with some more shade as the small umbrellas scattered around do not do a great job ! Ok, the coffee. This wasn't the best, I know this bean is from Sydney, but it's definitely not to my or my wifes taste. Her flat white was also only very luke warm ! Food wise, my wife had a toasted cheese and ham croissant. This needed to be returned to be reheated as the croissant was warm, but ham was still very cold. On return, it still wasn't the best. I had the Devil eggs, this was ok, but you could tell the whole plate of food hadn't been freshly cooked, some items just reheated or warmed up. Service was, in my opinion unfortunately second rate only, staff that wasn't sure about the menu and did not fill you with confidence. Overall, a poor 1st visit. Maybe we'll return after it's been open a while to see if it...
