Coolum Coastal Chicken — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

We had a half chicken & chips a medium coleslaw & a small Ceasar salad. The chicken was quite tender but overly salty which totally spoilt the taste. The chips were generally ok, but unfortunately they were laden with salt & again it spoilt the taste. Using salt to this degree is so bad for consumers health, so unnecessary & ruins the flavour of the chicken & chips. The medium coleslaw is $9.50 which is overpriced, but it looked & tasted fine. The Ceaser salad is $7.00 & tiny & again so overpriced! The worst part was the condition of the Ceaser salad. The lettuce looked stale, brownish around the edges, a small sprinkling of rubbery bacon & no egg, which is a big part of a Ceaser salad. It looked like a tub of unappetising, small pieces of cos lettuce. It was clearly stale by the end of the day & inedible. I hate waste, but it had to go in the bin uneaten. My suggestion is to restrict the salt, provide fresh salads & if they're deteriorating as the day progresses, refresh them or remove them or halve the cost. Also the full price of salads should be reviewed as they are blatantly overpriced. I will be buying the salad at the supermarket, where you can buy 500gms of coleslaw for $5.50 & a small Ceaser Salad costs $5.50 too. At the fish & chip shop, the coleslaw is also more reasonably priced. Hopefully this is taken as constructive feedback to help improve customers experience, as that's what it's all about. I’ve eaten at this establishment many times over the years. I’ve found it to be great value for money, “however”.. I’ve noticed medium to low work place morale among staff. In a recent experience, I was left waiting to be served longer than I should have been. The manager asked a staff member to serve me, the staff member that served me was low energy with very little friendliness. I ordered a small chips and small gravy. I went to coles to get a couple of things hoping my order would be ready when I get back. The shop was not busy at this time. When I arrived back from coles there were 4 customers waiting including myself. As 20mins passed the other orders cleared out and a staff member asked what my number was. She told me the number must have gotten lost. This staff member prepared my small chips and gravy straight away. I’m disappointed to say when I arrived home to discover the chips were scraps from the left over chips that had been sitting around. I couldn’t eat them. If staff here had job satisfaction and better customer service the quality of the product would be better and I would be able to justify the price increase of...

Incredibly disappointed with our order of fish and chips tonight. We paid $15.60 for each piece of fish, 1 battered cod & 1 crumbed cod, not even the size of a standard iPhone. Both pieces of cod cost us over $31.20 in total and the serving size was no where near that of another local Coolum Beach fish and chip shop (double the size of what we received from Coolum Coastal Chicken). Our chips also arrived soggy. We are regular customers and have no issues with their chicken, however the chips are hit and miss. We called and spoke to the manager as we have been regular customers here for a while now and was told that the price is more expensive because we ordered off of Uber Eats and that sometimes there are small pieces of fish to use. I explained that if this is the case and if I’m paying 15.60 for a half sized fillet of COD then you should add another piece. We shouldn’t be penalized. I was offered a credit of a piece of fish back to my Uber Eats app, so hopefully this is honoured. Very dissatisfied and won’t be ordering fish...
