As I first entered this establishment, I was taken aback by the interior, the blue worked in tandem with the entire vintage aesthetic, but we are not writing this review for looks. After ordering a simple cheeseburger, I was approached by a kindly man with eyes glowing with youth younger than my own, a heavy brummy accent rolled off his tongue as he placed down my order, telling me to ‘enjoi me self’. The simple burger looked perfect, the right amount of advertisement glow and mouth watering sloppiness. Alas, as I took my first bite, my eyes exploded with stars, my vision was taken as a sudden searing pain flooded over the back of my head. I quickly recovered and turned to face my assailant, only to find there was no one behind me. As I looked back at my burger I realised. This was no simple cheeseburger. The shock of the flavours hitting my tastebuds rocked me to the core of my being. The cheese melted over the bacon and beef, combined with a perfect mix of mustard and ketchup complimented the brioche roll with such force that I lost as my sense momentarily. As I ate, nay, devoured the cheeseburger, other customer left and complained about the noises and mess I was making. Did I care? Of course not, this burger was made to be experienced at the highest of levels and I would not have that taken from me. As I took my final bite, without thinking my eyes shot up, looking towards the sky. For the first time in an age, I prayed. I thanked God for the gift of being able to experience such a feat of hospitality. This burger helped me not only experience pure ecstasy, but helped me find my faith. 5 stars. (Ps I asked for no pickles and there was pickles on it but that’s...
Read moreI have been to various burger joints from Brisbane and all the known ones here in the Sunny Coast. Walters Diners is by far, without a doubt, the best one. I have had a few different options from their menu already. Their beef patty blend ensure a juicy smash, which is still crunch on the outside as they should. The southern fried chicken is crispy, tender, and juicy. And if you get the slow cooked brisket, you’ll be as pleased. The boss man sauce is spicy enough to just bring up the amazingness their burger is. I can keep going on about each burger/sandwich I tried, but at the end their quality, technique, and menu mix is what makes this place so wonderful and one of my favourite diners in the Coast. If that wasn’t excellent enough, their price is very reasonable, competitive enough with fast food chains that can’t offer 20% of the quality they do. Walters Diner is a must destination, either if you live in the area or is...
Read moreWent for lunch today with my husband, I’ve been wanting to try Walters for a while. Would have given them 5 stars if it wasn’t for the rudest man taking our order. We ordered two sandwiches and tried to order two different types of fries to try, only to be told it was way too much and we should be thinking about the environment and not wasting food. I laughed it off and said ok, we will just have one. Then had him obnoxiously educate us that the world doesn’t have limited resources and we need to be more aware. He was shaking his head and seemed visibly angry. I’ve never ever had such terrible service in my life. I honestly wish we had just walked out. The young girl serving was super friendly so it’s such a shame we were treated so badly.
Anyway, food was good but we won’t be back which is...
