As the place looked quite busy, I decided not to linger near the door waiting to be seated, so I found one for myself and gave the nearest wait staff a friendly smile and wink, letting her know not to bother rushing over to me as I had found a perfectly suitable table.
Once settled in, I gave my coat to the young man leaning against the door. I later remarked to the barman how impressed I was with the speed at which he ran out side to check my coat in.
I then approached the bar, and with the sommelier apparently on leave, I ordered a cola-infused soda water. The friendly barman then asked if I would like to order my meal now, rather than going back to the table. I thought this was a marvellous idea and I am always keen to try new things.
Being unfamiliar with the menu, I asked the waiter for his recommendations then proceeded back to my seat.
The first course that arrived was a sort of double-layered meat sandwich consisting of two pattered pure beef cakes covered in some sort of bespoke sauce. This was filled out with some garden variety lettuce, some perfectly melted cow-cheese, pickled cucumber slices and diced onion. All arranged lovingly on a bun caressed by the seeds of a sesame plant.
It almost brought a tear to my eye to think of the care with which this sandwich was created. I felt guilty at the thought of eating this work of art, but would have been guiltier still to let it go wasted.
Accompanying this were golden oil-boiled slivers of Solanum tuberosum, each perfectly crafted to identical width. I asked the nearest waiter to give the chef my compliments on his attention to detail
The only problem with this course was that is was too generous, and not wanting to seem rude and refuse the mains, I left a generous tip on the table and quietly absconded.
Amazing food and friendly - if somewhat quiet service staff.
3 hats.
I'll have to remember to retrieve my coat when...
Read moreArrived 7:10 ordered a coffee, 7:24 departed with coffee: straight after ordering it appears on board as being served: it was not even being started til 7:21 - how about not making coffees with names on the cups instead of those for waiting customers known by a standing in the cafe? A staff member arriving to what looked like starting her shift was standing on the customer side of the counter playing with her phone talking loudly to the girl making coffees - I don't care for her personal life, nor who text her, nor who she thinks rude for calling her "cute" or someone else who does not understand the name of her uocoming uni course. I just want a coffee that I know is going to be good and leave. The barrista then knocks over a coffee ready to be served on the bench, spilling over chattering loud staff member and the floor before she goes behind the counter and starts her shift. Come on - we go to maccas for quick known good service ans a smile - maybe next time but not...
Read moreWent through drive through and got a large chicken and cheese meal, drove home, chips were cold. Drove back and calmly asked to replace my chips and burger as my burger had gone cold in the time I had to drive back to maccas. The man at the drive thru window was disgusting, said I would only get fresh chips to eat with a cold burger and shut the window in my face. Appalling, who allows this to happen? Simple decency, I could of came to the window and been angry my chips had been sitting in the tray for a while, why did that nasty guy get aggressive at me for being so kind in a frustrating situation. Which is only frustrating to me, not the nasty bloke at the window yelling at the customer because they weren’t happy with their food. Management, please find out who treated me like this and teach them manners, or just some decency. I’m speechless about...
