Al Beik Shawarma — Restaurant in Sydney

I grew up in the Middle East and have tried many shawarmas throughout my life. I have to say this is the best shawarma I have tasted in Sydney! The lamb and chicken shawarma are tender, well cooked and full of flavour and the bread used is light and crispy. The fries are also crunchy with the right amount of seasoning.

The owner is really hard working and friendly and clearly takes pride in the quality of the food he serves. On top of that, the restaurant is clean, well presented and open until 2:30am every day.

Would highly recommend for anyone seeking a delicious meal and authentic shawarma experience. Al Beik has plenty of other enticing menu options I look forward to trying. I will definitely be...

Are you kidding me?!? I just ordered 1 chicken shawarma and 1 shish tawook but I received 2 chicken shawarma! When it’s hard or impossible for you to make shish tawook late night then just tell customers. I asked if it is possible to make shish tawook at this time she said yes, but never made the effort to make it. Also shish tawook was more in price.

The chef definitely knew my order but tried to trick me as he made the two wraps different, one just normal shawarma with its sauce and salad, the other one was with shish tawook stuff like pickles etc but the chicken was shawarma (easier, available, and cheaper).

Do not let customers leave with bags filled with wrong order.

Tasted rotten!!!! I was really looking forward to trying this place after reading the good reviews as they have a 4.7, and I even traveled an hour to get there. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst shawarma I’ve ever had. The meat tasted old and off, like spoiled chicken or something not even close to a normal meat. I could barely take more than one bite — and the more I ate, the worse it got, to the point I felt like vomiting. I’m extremely disappointed—it was nothing like what people described. Total waste of time and money. I’m also genuinely concerned about the food safety here and hope it gets properly checked. It’s really unacceptable to have places like this...
