The food here is very tasty. However they really need to hire staff who work in customer service. They absolutely have no idea, the 3 times I have been there it has all been bad. To top it off, I sent them a long email with my experience and asked for a reply however they didn't bother, hence I'm writing a review here for everyone to see. I ordered over the phone for take away. They said 20 minutes. I got there right on 20 minutes and they said 10 mins more which was fine. Another 20 minutes went by I enquired with a female at the front counter. She said she will check and walked off. She came back and just stood around totally ignoring the reason she went on the first place, I'm just standing there like an idiot while she stands in idle. I ask her well how long is it going to be, she replies back 2 mins. After another 10 minutes I asked a male waiter. He said he will check, again he walked off and next thing he is back on the floor standing around not letting me know how much longer, I watched him and made eye contact still no effort to tell me. I had to approach him after a while and said did you check how long he replied yes they are just packing it now. I told him that was five minutes ago why are you making me wait for the answer when you should come back and tell me instead of doing other things. He just stares blankly. They are like bloody zombies. The owner should pay a little extra and get workers who Have English. Are happy to be there or at least pretend to be happy. Don't treat customers like trash. Don't lie to customers about the wait time even after checking up twice.
The lady didn't even know what a bottle of water was. Kept trying to explain I want a bottles of water and just didn't know until another guy came and said we only have soft drinks. Lol. Who doesn't sell bottle of water these days.
Anyway I am very turned off from this place. Even though the food is nice I won't return unless I hear back from the owners that they care about their customers. Better off paying a little extra and going to Not Just Curries in...

We recently attended a private function at Himalaya Restaurant in Granville, with around 100 guests, and the experience was fantastic. The venue was spotless, and the beautiful wall art and traditional decor instantly transported us back to Pakistan. Himalaya is renowned for its authentic halal Punjabi cuisine, known for its flavorful dishes with just the right level of spice.
The buffet spread was impressive, offering an overwhelming variety of choices. It was hard to decide what to try! For entrées, we enjoyed the flavorful Malai Chicken BBQ, crispy potato cutlets, traditional Chana Chaat, and delicious fried prawns. As for the main course, we were treated to dishes like Palak Paneer, Nihari, Malai Kofta, Achari-style Gosht Curry, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Biryani, and Pulao Rice. The Chicken Jalfrezi and Palak Saag were the standout favourites for us.
For dessert, the Gajar ka Halwa and Kulfa Falooda were simply irresistible. The entire dining experience was enhanced by the attentive staff, who made sure everyone was well taken care of, and the thoughtful seating arrangements for both men and women.
They even have a prayer area upstairs, which was a thoughtful touch, and the venue can accommodate over 200 guests, with a separate building available for larger functions. Himalaya is also popular for catering, offering a reliable option for events.
Overall, Himalaya Restaurant is making a significant contribution to the local Pakistani and subcontinental community. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to others looking for authentic flavours and a warm,...
Read moreHimalaya Granville came highly recommended from some foodies so had to give it a try. Had been postponing our visit given where it is located. The restaurant was a bit chaotic on the evening of our visit and we didn't feel like dining-in, so had a take away done. Himalaya's a-la-carte menu is pricey when compared to other restaurants in this segment and not so pleasant interiors/ seating but the serving size is good. In terms of taste- Nihari was a stand out, encapsulating the spiciness, rich and traditional flavours. Chicken tikka masala was just under okay and naan bread met our expectations. I was most disappointed with dessert (Rasmalai). It was lumpy with overpowering taste of high on glucose milk powder. First bite, and was apparent that it was half done, in haste from leftover and served. Had to discard straight away. With what they charge, you'd expect certain minimum service and quality, and Himalaya certainly did not meet those expectations. This restaurant likely has followers who speak highly of its food, I am not one of them. I would rather pay a little more and go to Lal Quila, or pay a lot less and chose one of the dhaba style eat outs in nearby Auburn or...
