Read moreMy first ever El Jannah meal was at the Punchbowl store, and it was a fantastic experience. So, I wanted to have a look at how the first original El Jannah at Granville would be. In comparison, the atmosphere was not the same, but that could be because I went at opening times. The attractive chaos was predominant at Punchbowl and not present at Granville. I also found that the staff did not enjoy being at Granville. My smiles and engagement were not received with enthusiasm. I often overthink when the workers are not happy at a customer facing hospitality establishment. I hope they are OK. Other than these first world problems, the food is amazing at this place, I definitely recommend a visit. I had the roast chicken meal, and the toum and tabouleh were out of this world. The chicken was perfectly cooked and was really nice to have it with their spicy sauce and flat bread. My family loved the fried chicken tenders as well. Finally, another reason I liked the atmosphere at Punchbowl was that I could see into the kitchen watching the rotary roasting above the charcoal with all its sensory rewards and as well as the staff having a good time joking around despite off their feet with work. Read moreI made an order through an Uber Eats (our Christmas lunch together) at 10:55am with Granville branch. First estimated time was 11:50am and it keep pushing back till 2:45pm. (Ridiculously long)
It's very bad that no one has contacted and let me know what going on with the order. I have to ask the Uber driver to pass the phone to one of the staff and she told me that when we place an order, they're very busy at the time and have mentioned about the driver wasn't there. I didn't want to argue but just need food, so I told her to just cook my food and send it over. Which is she actually cooking our food around just before 2pm (order at 10:55am) when I reach out to the shop by the Uber delivery driver’s phone.
The delivery ends up coming around 2:30pm. If I'm not reaching out for it would have been longer I guess.
This is unacceptable for three and half an hour wait without explanation.
We contact to the restaurant and they offered $20 voucher for the $385 bill with three and half an hour waiting to sort this issue out...
