Second time to dine in and most probably the last time too... Place been getting really bad in shape ever since last visit. Used to be an alright place but not anymore. We were shown to sit upstairs which is ok for us but when we were shown to our table in a reconstructed room. The air was foul and to our horror, there was a overturned cockroach next to our table which is still very much alive! Wonder how long ago they really clean up the place, hence the foul smell in the room. We called to the waitress, thrice and we asked to have table change due to all that reason. Appetite half lost. We were seated to downstairs than and ordered a few dishes for dinner. We had the samba pipi too. When my mate had a bite on the onion, he split it out immediately and asked me to taste it if it’s something wrong with his palate. I got a bite and my goodness the putrid smells of the onion taste was obviously rotten and used to cooking without proper food hygiene check. We acknowledge the waitress telling her bout the spoilt onion been cooked with the pipi, thus we would like to cancel it off since we only have a couple of that. She took it away but moments later came back later asking what’s wrong with it. We repeated the reason again and than she came back with another lady, most probably we assume to be the manager or the owner’s daughter (from the cocky tone and arrogant disrespectful attitude). She show us a bowl of cut onion and told us which the onion they use is freshly cut daily and insisted it is the flavour from the sauce and nothing is rotten. Obviously the onion she show us is freshly cut judging from the wetness of it. The thing is, their onion may not seems to be handle properly perhaps it is from the container been re-using without washing it or any other reason but certainly we know our palate and that onions in the dish is certainly rotten. The lady cancel off the dish form our bill in the end. It was not a very happy dinner though. To be honest, all of my mate sitting on the table works in kitchen for years, which including me as I was a production manager for a soup company before and we handle with tons and tons of onions daily. I know it well how a rotten onion taste like and what a sambal sauce smells like too. Hygiene already ruin half of our appetite with live cockroach welcoming us and than the rotten food which they still want to insist nothing is wrong. Furthermore, they should consider to clean up the fans too as all of it is covered with dust. Like I said, really don’t know how long since the last time this place was properly clean up. It may looks ok in Malaysia with cockroaches and rotten food but this is Australia. Unacceptable though.

Seating/Environment: The place is somewhat tight and crammed in terms of seating. If you come here, do expect to sit quite close to other people around you. The cleanliness of the place is average. Payment: The place does accept card payments if your order is more than $30 so make sure you bring cash if you are not going to order a lot Staff: For the staff, most of them are somewhat friendly and engaging and they were relatively attentive. Food: The food came out extremely quickly even though the restaurant was somewhat busy during dinner time which was nice. There is a very large variety on the menu ranging from noodles, rice, congee, sides and desserts. We ordered a Seafood Nasi Goreng ($14.5), Hainanese Chicken Rice ($12.5) and Satay Chicken Skewers (6 for $12.5). The portion sizes are very generous for the price you pay for and you’ll definitely be left feeling full. The Nasi Goreng was quite delicious, fragrant and flavourful and the rice was crunchy. The seafood option included generous amounts of prawns, squid, calamari and some fish fillets which all tasted very fresh and wasn’t to tough or chewy. However, the dish was also extremely oily. This made the dish very difficult to finish. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was also extremely delicious. The chicken was tender, juicy and had flavour. This was accompanied with ginger, soy sauce and chilli sauce which paired up quite nicely. There was also a small bowl of soup that came with the dish but it was fairly average, there wasn’t a lot of flavour to it but was still nice. The chicken rice in my opinion was once again, a bit too oily for my liking. The chicken skewers were quite nice as well. While there could’ve been a bit more flavour in the skewers themselves, it was still very nice and enjoyable. The peanut sauce that came with it complemented it well. The drinks that we ordered were Honey Lemon and Teh Tarik, both were very nice and refreshing. While it comes in a big tankard like container, half of it is filled up with ice so your drink is not as big as it may seem. The cold drinks in my opinion were a bit overpriced given the quantity we got. Overall opinion: Overall I wouldn’t mind coming here again with a bunch of friends or family. My only criticism for the place is that the food we ordered was a bit too oily. However, I’d recommend giving this place a try if you want to try out some pretty good Malaysian food around the Campsie area.

21/2/25 - 4 stars A long standing establishment in Campsie and, judging by the comments, quite well loved by locals. It has an unassuming and somewhat unimpressive appearance downstairs, but, upstairs is a bit better furnished. Service is very rudimentary and spacing is a little tight if not in a booth. Food is overall decent. Serving sizes are not bad, flavours are generally quite good and there is a huge amount of choice. Worth a try if you want Malaysian food. Char Kway Teow Flavour: A+, 7.5/10. A little salty? Wok hei is ok but could be more prominent. Not spicy at all. Texture: S+, 8.5/10. Nothing over cooked but it did get a bit dry as there is a lot of rice noodle. No sambal included. Value: S, 8/10. $18.5 for a pretty big serving Hainanese chicken Flavour: S+, 8.5/10. Chicken itself is already quite clean tasting and the base soy sauce was nice Texture: SS, 9/10. One of the better ones I've had. Juicy and tender but no random fat Sides: A, 7/10. Was expecting a chicken broth soup not seaweed soup Value: A+, 7.5/10. $18 Roti canai with rendang Roti: S+, 8.5/10. A bit fluffy yet tender and flaky. Maybe a bit too buttery Rendang: S, 8/10. Curry was nice but some beef pieces were not tender Value: B, 6/10. $19.5

Excellent food quality. One of the best fried chicken have ever tried. But to enjoy that food you need good atmosphere and at least ok customer service. For us food is not Only to full tummy. Its satisfaction of heart, exploring new cuisine, meeting new people and culture.

As my office located at campsie, i go there almost every day (excpt monday- tues, as they close). One of my fellow colleague warned me about their customer service. I didn’t care. Coz he never shared. Just said it was humiliating. Anyway he doesn’t need to tell me anymore.

Just to say, guyz i cant not eat with stick coz i never practiced. I dont need to. With that small bowl you guyz can eat with chopstick, but i can not. I need bigger bowl, i eat with spoon and i am not ashamed. I paid the bill in full. Its consumer right to get a bigger plate. I am not asking for discount or special requirements. Just asking for a bigger plate. And you are telling me those are for stuffs. 50 plates u keep for stuffs and happy to see ur customer suffer. May be too much confident about Their food quality. Ok, ur confidence ruined my evening. To hell with your confidence. Cancer starts with simple pimple. But later on take over the whole body, if you Don't prevent.

To everyone please dont go there on weekend. That lady will be there for sure. Dont be aware about her...
