We went up for a nice evening meal to get away from Sydney with some friends of ours after along busy Easter weekend . The restaurant looked nice and quiet with a calm setting . After spending a while decifering the menu on the black board . My friend decided on the chicken schnitzel sounded appealing but also had a taste for something with bacon and avocado .
As we proceeded to the counter a very polite young man served them at the counter . He greeted us with a smile and great manners and customer service . My friends asked for the schnitzel and that if it was possible at an extra cost , if they could add bacon and avocado too the chicken .
The young man walked into the kitchen and spoke to the chef about changing the order . The chef / owner was very aggressive and said that he would not modify or add anything to the meal at extra cost . This conversation was quite loud and behind the doors too the kitchen . The young man came back shaken and very embarrassed and apologised profusely for the problem .
Shortly after , the chef walked behind him with a pizza cutting it in a very passive aggressive manner giving off a very uncomfortable vibe. Almost all of these meals were on average $30 and with the orders we had agreed on would have made them a very easy $170 . But from the sound of the way the kitchen is run here . This bloke just decides when he feels like being professional and if he feels like customers at his choice . The fact we had travelled over an hour and a half to intentionally try this restaurant on what had been a great afternoon, quickly jolted to the choice too leave and find food back in Sydney on the way home . The service at the front counter was highly commendable . The chef is a total joke . Save your money and just drive past . Not going to return or recommend this to any friends or overseas visitors to visit again. If there was the option of Zero stars that would have been given ! An...
Read moreCould not recommend the Restaurant these days, have eaten there over the years and found the food a little disappointing for the price of late. Two people at our table ordered Whiting fillets, chips and salad, plenty of chips, very average salad and questioned whether the fish was actually Whiting, for $25 not worth it. The Greek Salad for $15 fell short of size and originality, quite surprised at the very small bowl of salad and cant say it was worth the $15. For $150 plus dollars we spent, didnt feel that we got Bang for Buck. If this restaurant is charging Al a Ca rte prices they need to present the meal as that. Plates seemed to be bulked up with chips, not what we expect or want for the price. We will be heading down the road to try one of the other restaurants in future, shame, as we have always enjoyed the...
Read moreOur (NSW RFS) Brigade Social Luncg was held at the Angler's Rest Hotel. The place was buzzing with lots of patrons, which is testimony to the popularity of the pub.
We had a table of at least 25 people, and everyone had a fabulous time. Considering the number of people there, our food orders arrived in an acceptable time period. The food was brought out freshly prepared and was of excellent quality. The prices were quite competitive and were on par with the food on offer. I am very impressed with the customer service staff who provided an efficient yet friendly service under the hectic conditions.
This was the first time for me and I will surely be back. In future, I will arrive earlier to get street parking or take the train to Brooklyn train station which is no more than 10 minutes...
