My partner’s scrambled eggs were good, but I ordered the blue swimmer crab linguine and it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. It was full of undercooked onion that overpowered the whole dish, all I could taste was onion. To top it off it was covered in Parmesan cheese which is a massive no no in Italian cooking with seafood pasta. There shouldn’t have been any onion or cheese in a light shellfish pasta like this one, both things overpowered the crab and clams. The crab meat was actually lovely but all I could taste was onion. I gave the waitress my feedback and she was very sorry, but she didn’t do anything about it. I’m not sure if my comments were even passed onto the kitchen. Overall $35 was incredibly overpriced for such a terrible pasta dish.

Cute cafĆ©, but not worth the ā€œNorth Shore taxā€ This warm, cottage-style cafĆ© is undeniably charming, dog friendly, filled with lush greenery and flowers, and plenty of space to settle in. Service was reasonably quick, and the coffee was tasty, though disappointingly lukewarm. Also worth noting: no lactose-free milk options. The food, while presented nicely, felt overpriced for what you get. Scrambled eggs on toast were $19, with every side an extra $6 (bit of a joke, really). The sausage and egg muffin set me back $27, tiny portion, no sides included. šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼ It’s a lovely spot to sit, but with prices like these and underwhelming value, I don’t think I’ll be rushing back.

Probably the most impressive breakfast I’ve had in this area in a long time. Just simple scrambled eggs on sourdough with added sides. But that’s what you want especially when it’s all done really well. Recommend their mushrooms and tomatoes on the side. Service was great. Only taking one star away as I think the coffee could be better. There’s plenty of great coffee roasters these days. As a cafe owner I’d be ensuring I’m getting the best beans, training and support possible. Some single origins and filter options would be nice

Two things that tainted our first experience at this cafe today. I asked for scrambled eggs on toast without butter to which the server confirmed as she repeated my order. But the scrambled eggs were cooked in butter and there was more butter on the side. Surely it's not a very hard instruction to follow. Albeit I ordered no butter for non-drastic reasons so rather than complaining, I ate some of my food. But this is not good especially if I might have had strict dietary requirements such as intolerance. Second, it clearly says on the menu that they are charging 1.8% surcharge for visa/mastercard, and 2.2% for amex. And when it came to pay, the surcharge on the machine was at 2.2% despite not knowing which card we'd be using to pay. When we asked, we were told its because the machine system was recently updated and it automatically set all card payments to be charged 2.2%. So what this is telling me is that the machine was not updated correctly to set the correct surcharge and customers are being ripped off because whoever is responsible is lazy and can't do their job properly and the inconvenience that they experience for doing their job properly is being charged to customers. We brought this up and they refuse to correct their mistake. This is a sly act of ripping customers off if no one reviews their receipt...

Overcharged, underperforms.

For all it does right it does a lot more wrong. I got the crab linguine, good serving of crab and clams and both were really fresh, but there was a lot it did wrong. First, it was garnished with a tonne of inedible grass that would be better served to a rabbit. It honestly had no place on this dish; the entire pile went back to the kitchen. Second, the dish was just drowned in oil, there must have been about an eighth-cup of oil puddled at the bottom of my bowl. I'm surprised the Americans didn't invade my plate. Third, there was just way too much garlic in the dish, it completely overpowered everything. This more than anything else ruined it. Finally, and while I did say there was good portions of both clam and crab, there's no way there was $35 worth of seafood in the dish. A $30 price tag would be acceptable if the dish was improved but for what I was served $35 is a joke. Do your wallet a favour and find a cheaper place to eat, don't let the fancy venue and suburb convince you the price is right.

Positives: the fresh juices are delicious, the wait staff were very nice, the venue is pet friendly so there were lots of nice doggos to look at, and it's on...
