Skewers were good, nothing too special though (don't get the sausage skewers). Be prepared to wait a long time for each skewer to cook though. Service is questionable. We wanted to keep a menu on the table so we could we what other skewers we wanted to order later on. We were initially told "okay" but one of the waiters, but after 5 mins, another waiter came up and just took our menu off our table, muttering something about "no more menus" and just walked away.
Also, later on during the night, there was a really foul smell that wafted throughout the restaurant - it smelled like really bad sour sweat. We suspected it was the same waiter that took our menu as the smell seemed to be stronger whenever he walked past.
We also ordered one of the bread platters after we were told that it was like mantou (Chinese bread). What we ended up getting was essentially two slices of bread cut up into quarters and dipped in egg yolk. It also came with some random sugar syrup sauce. It was not good at all and we didn't eat the rest of it after one bite.
There seems to be a language barrier in this restaurant. The staff will always assume you are either Korean or Chinese and will start loudly talking to you in either languages. This is obviously okay if you speak either languages, but otherwise, you will need to tell them that you need English.
Furthermore, they also told us to press on the button if we ever needed to call upon the staff - we pressed the button 3 or 4 times throughout the night, but no one ever attended to us, so we eventually gave up on using the button and started just trying to flag them down instead.
Overall, the skewer BBQ was good, but everything else was...
Read moreOn the expensive side for me personally. $100 for two people (20 skewers, a soup and 2 beers). Skewers aren't massive either but on the small side, though they tasted fine. The spicy lamb flavour had a peculiar numbing taste to it, not my jam. We did enjoy the gimmick of the rotating sticks, it worked really well. Not a fan of the "must order a minimum 10 skewers of the same type" rule before you're able to order other flavours. I advise them to have some sort of dipping sauce, in the same vein as kbbq. Also it said they closed at 10pm but when we arrived at 8pm they said this is the last order which was pretty lame. The server we had was nice and apologetic when our soup was delayed. Nice fellow. Overall, I will stick to normal Korean BBQ. But I still had fun with the...
Read moreI visited this Korean-Chinese restaurant for dinner. The novelty factor is small skewers of meat grilling over charcoal. However note that you are required to order a minimum of 10 skewers of lamb meat before you are allowed to order other skewer types.
The real disappointment of the dinner comes from the bibimbap served which easily qualifies as one of the worst I’ve ever had. Lukewarm temperature beef alongside spinach vegetables that are in a frosted state . The waitress was extremely rude in assuming I ordered wrongly and that I wanted the dolsot hot pot bibimbap. I tried explaining that the ingredients weren’t cooked but was met with a stinky attitude.
There are much better Korean bbq places out there. Not worth the visit for what is essentially...
