Ishiyama has moved to a bigger premise across the road from Campsie train station. The new place is 3 times bigger than the last and the restaurant decor reminds me of being in Tokyo. The food are delicious and authentic at Ishiyama. We ordered assorted sashimi, pork katsu-don, chicken karaage and more. All dishes were nicely presented. No complaints about the food quality or portions. However their service is a let-down which results in a poor rating. Firstly, although I received my table reservation confirmation email, the reservation was not received by Ishiyama. We had to wait 20 min for a table. Secondly, the table service was poor. We ordered hot green tea during the food order but it took more than 10 min for it come. When the sashimi was served, the saucer for soy sauce were not served. We had to go to the counter to ask for it ourselves. Entrees and main were brought out at the same time while there is another 10-20 min wait for the other person's main. I am not suggesting the waitresses are standing around not doing anything. They were busy attending takeaway/UberEats/Menu Logs etc orders which brings me to the last point. I believe Ishiyama business model is flawed. They are too focus on takeaway services when they should first attend to in-store patrons as they are in the restaurant paying full price. I do understand food delivery services may govern a large portion of the restaurant income (especially located in the suburb). But it would be better for people sitting at home comfortably on the couch in their pajamas to wait than those patrons to wait for good food but receive...

I recently had a truly enchanting dining experience at a Japanese restaurant nestled in the vibrant Campsie area. From the moment you step inside, the exquisite attention to detail in the decor transports you straight to Japan. The ambiance is enhanced by a live camera feed showcasing scenes from Japan, adding an authentic touch that immerses you in the culture.

Each table features an innovative ordering system via a sleek tablet, making it easy to browse the extensive menu and place your order at your own pace. For those who love to capture their dining memories, the restaurant provides a convenient camera phone and selfie stick holder, allowing you to take stunning photos or even stream your experience live as you enjoy your meal.

The quality of the food is exceptional, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Additionally, the staff members are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist you with a warm smile. This restaurant truly offers a delightful culinary journey that lingers long after...

I recently visited Ishiyama Japanese Dining in Campsie, a spot that might look understated from the outside, but once you step in, it welcomes you with a strong Japanese izakaya vibe. The wooden interiors, hanging banners, and soft lighting make it feel like a cozy corner of Japan.

I ordered the Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen along with a side of karaage chicken. The ramen broth was on the lighter side—not too rich, but pleasantly drinkable. The chashu was nicely seared, with a slight char and tender texture, packed with flavor. The noodles were standard yellow ramen noodles, decent in bite, and the toppings were generous—half-boiled egg, black fungus, seaweed, and scallions.

The karaage chicken was a standout. Juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside, it came with a small salad that added a refreshing contrast to the dish.

Overall, even though this place leans more towards an izakaya style, the food quality was solid. I’d love to return and try more of their small plates and set meals...
