Been there twice and both times met with disappointment. The Prana chai (only sounds fancy), but would TOTALLY give it a miss, itâs so weak that I felt like I was drinking milk.
Ordered a soy cap the second time we went. It was curdled and tasted sour. (Should have taken a photo). When I told them, they said âthatâs how it always is and very normal. We have been in the business for many yearsâ đ¤ˇđťââď¸! They were abrupt and extremely defensive, and offered me another one to stop the convo. But I didnât want another coffee. I donât think itâs normal to have curdled coffee, otherwise no one would have coffee from there! It tasted wrong. Things happen, things can go wrong, which I understand, but when he said âit was normalâ thatâs what annoyed me, coz itâs NOT. I have had a BAZILLIONS of soy caps! đ
They messed up my order, gave me a sandwich instead of the big breakfast I had ordered. Had to stick to it since I didnât have time to get the one I had ordered.
Long story short, my friend and I both had upset stomachs after our visit today ! (Not joking)!
Unfortunately, you have lost weekly clientele as we are there every Sat for a kids class. Itâs a shame, since the place is nice overall.
I will add, as much as I wonât go back there, the different croissants they have are pretty good and indulgent.
Edit : Thank you for your response. I do appreciate it. Unfortunately I didnât get a complimentary pastry, I got a 3$ discount on it when I had paid the difference between the breakfast I had actually ordered and realised I couldnât wait for it. Instead of taking a refund I decided to have a pastry and the lady came to me wanting the extra 3$, to which I then asked for a discount.
I wish the person has explained to me regarding the soy cap instead of being defensive. He didnât say anything that you listed in your comment. All he said that it was normal etc. Nothing about it being extra hot! I really wasnât after a new coffee or free items, just wanted to know it that was normal.
Anyway, wish you all well...
Read moreLimited parking - very few spots in front of the store, so there is parking around the back, but a VERY long and steep staircase to go up.
The deluxe breakfast croissant was good. Comprehensive fillings.
The bacon and egg roll was nice. Lovely bun, generous amount of bacon, only one egg, BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering which was nice.
Added a serve of "house made hash browns" to the bacon and egg roll, which were two perfectly square generic hash browns instead, which was disappointing.
The croissants were nice, but definitely were not fresh. They weren't at all crisp, and we know that croissants eaten the day after they were baked are still crispy.
The matcha cookies are very dry and don't have enough chocolate in them.
The carrot cake was okay but needed more icing, and a fluffier cream cheese icing would be better. The cake itself was a little dry. Carrot cakes should be moist.
The matcha latte was nice and strong but almost choked towards the end as there was so much residue at the bottom.
Overall, not bad, but probably wouldn't make the effort to...
Read moreGreat pastries but please train your staff on whether the products contain nuts or not. I asked the staff whether a chocolate brownie contained any nuts and three times she responded that she was adamant it was nut free. At one point she indicated that their gluten free brownies do not contain any nuts. I insisted she clarify with the chef who then clarified it contained nuts. Had I given the brownie to my 4 yr old daughter without having insisted on getting further confirmation my daughter would have died.
The staff spoke to me as if I was rude for asking for further clarification. If you donât know the answer donât respond as if you know because your too lazy to clarify. Your staff lack the understanding of how serious nut allergy conditions are. They are ignorant, arrogant...
