Bakers Delight Oatley — Restaurant in Sydney

Croissants that weren't. That's it. Everything else was fine as normal. Staff were keen and courteous. Sourdough: fine. Cheese and bacon rolls: our boy demolished them. But today's (straight!) croissants were more like cardboard. No flakiness outside, no pull-apart softness inside. Someone there forgot some baking basics today.

Edit: went back (28/5) and mentioned the above to the staff. The young guy's look said "we actually do make kickarse croissants so let me show you!" (Truth be told, yesterday's croissants were straighty 180 also) but his voice sounded like I was being offered a 4 pack this Saturday to show how good their croissants really are. Watch this space.

Went to purchase a cinnamon scroll after seeing them on TikTok, and it definitely lives up to the hype! It was soft, not too sweet, with just the right amount of icing. I highly recommend it. The staff were really nice. I mentioned that I saw them on TikTok, and the employee ( I think he was the manager?) told me their store actually has a TikTok page which was pretty funny. This is one of the better Bakers Delight locations I’ve been to, and I appreciated how genuine the staff were. The staff at the front are always incredibly lovely and there is always plenty of baked goods. I am really disappointed with what I saw this morning however. The owner (?) was in the back of the store yelling at the baker. Whether or not the baker did anything, there is no reason for anyone to yell at their staff, much less in a full bakery where all the customers can hear. If you have a grievance with a staff member you pull them aside to discuss. Yelling at someone when you are in a position of authority over them is really inappropriate and if I was the poor...
