I've only been here a few times in my younger days for the usual partys & game nights.
I dropped in tonight with the family for a dinner pub feed, 80% of the tables in the place were either reserved or had people sitting there already but luckily with a bit of walking around we found a table in the corner next to the stage, prime spot in front of the TV to watch the roosters v bunnies game was meant to be haha!!
I've forgotten how big this place is... could most definitely be the biggest pub in the area as in and all rounder of a pub. It has the dining upon entry at the front with the kitchen and where you can order food, also on one of the other entry doors you have the bar and a Pokies room behind. If you further in past the bar you have the TAB/KENO to your left in the corner and then beside that plenty of seating in front of TVsand a with the TAB close by and right beside was a stage for live performances. Then had the outdoor beer garden with plenty of seating with tables and upstairs another beer garden with an umbrella roof & a massive outdoor tv and plenty of seating, then inside on the 2nd level were 2 genourous sized function rooms with a full bar aswell. What more do you need haha?! Also they have a massive park out the front optionally if you have a blinder you can lay down on the grass till the mornin, or just cabbit/book an ubes:)!
There is plenty of parking beside the hotel in their patrons only parking lot and also directly out the front and all around the Hotel so never to far to walk :).
The menu is an A4 sized menu, one side was all Pizzas and other side was Meat/Seafood/Pasta mains & Desserts :) I ordered the Lamb Cutlets and Cannelloni, sister octopus salad, dad garlic prawns, mum prawn cutlets, cousin & sisters BF Schnittyz :D. They had Wild Yak on tap, Yaks are a top drop so got that for me, my cousin and my mum :)!
My cutlets were super tasty & Cannelloni was really creamy and tasty by far the best pub pasta I've ever had :D, as for the rest of the family their spotless plates spoke for themselves haha!!
I walked off and ordered some ice cream for myself cause no one else was keen and then ordered a Piccolo and the girl behind the counter enticed me to try the apple crumble pizza so i went with her fine recommendation:D.
I got the banana & choc mint gelato.. the choc mint Gelato was off the hook tasty :). My piccolo and the dessert pizza (apple crumbled cooked with custard and then topped on the pizza with toasted coconut sprinkled over it with 2 scoops of Vanilla) arrived shortly afterwards.. suprisingly the rest off the family all of a sudden got humgry for dessert haha.. it had 6 slices so was the perfect icing to a perfect meal :).
This was one of the easiest of my 5 star reviews, my family were super delighted and a revisit is definitely on...
Read moreHorrible service and food. We were looking forward to a nice lunch and ordered pasta (which was disgusting). We also ordered a $16 Caesar salad, which was a small portion, NOT dressed, and absolutely bland/tasteless. We brought it back so they could add a side of dressing, and the cook just squirted mayonaisse all over the salad... When we were about to leave, we politely asked a server if we could have a refund for the salad, as it was inedible, and we had only tried a bite to see if it, in fact, tasted as putrid as it smelled and looked. The server took the salad to the cook, who proceeded to argue that the Caesar dressing is always just mayonaisse and anchovy (it was pure eggy mayonaisse, but okay). He asked what we wanted, to which we answered, "A refund would be nice," since we knew the issue wouldn't be resolved and that they'd simply remake the salad with the same gross mayonaisse. They refused to refund us, and instead attempted to pick a fight and try to correct us on the taste of the dressing. It's not as if we had never eaten this type of salad before and, therefore, had no idea what to expect. Caesar salad is one of the only salads I order from restaurants. Just as an FYI, Caesar salad dressing is supposed to have flavour and a little bite to it... But there was no hint of Dijon, lemon juice, garlic, or Worcestershire. After being met with hostility and aggression, we ended up walking out after having paid the full bill and being refused a refund for an incorrect, poorly made, and completely uneaten item. Hospitality and customer service has never been so wretched. Avoid this rip-off of a place, who will gladly take your money and not even bother to fix their errors, insisting in arguing with a paying customer instead of correcting their badly...
Read moreI’ve been to Oatley Hotel before for dinner, drinks, trivia etc and decided I’d love to book a function room for my 30th with them.
I was in contact with Lyn who was absolutely fantastic. She was very helpful, very friendly (especially when I went to look at the rooms) and wasn’t fussed when I called or emailed with questions leading up to the day. Thanks for all your help!
On the day, Ash & Chris were the managers on duty who came and introduced themselves. Both were lovely. I mostly dealt with Ash who helped me so much! She made sure the air conditioner was on, fixed the tv with the USB pics and even made sure my Spotify playlist was working for the music in the room! She was also great with helping me decide where was best to display the cake!
We ordered approx 20 pizzas from the bistro and they arrived super quickly! The staff even boxed the leftovers for us without us even asking! The food was all delicious (I love the Chanel and the Vitton pizzas! Yum!)
The night was amazing and the room was great. The bar staff and security were all wonderful and I just had the absolute best time.
Thank you to everyone at Oatley for helping make my 30th birthday...
