Summary: a solid restaurant and am happy with my first visit. Great atmosphere, great food, service was great. Prices are higher than other Afghan restaurants I have been to (but this place is definitely nicer in terms of decor, atmosphere and location). Yes, I will return to dine again.

Food: We ordered the Banquet 1 because there was a wide selection of food and we would have been able to taste a lot of the food items on the menu. All food items were great and tasted authentic. We had the charcoal meats, dumplings, two Quorma's (beef and chicken), rice and bread. The only downside was that the beef in the beef quorma was tough (as in, it was not tender and the meat did not 'fall apart'. Could have been slow cooked/pressure cooked longer). Overall, the food was great. The menu is extensive and I am curious to try more so I will be back.

Price: Not high, but not inexpensive. It cost $120 for two people including a soft drinks each. I have only ever been to eat Afghan at Kabul House in Merrylands, and the prices were much cheaper, but the menu at Kabul House is not as large, and the restaurant atmosphere is VERY different.

Service: Perfect. Waiter same to take our order quickly, the drinks came out on time, the food came out without feeling like it was a 'long wait'. The service was friendly and attentive.

Atmosphere: A beautiful restaurant. Nicely decorated, plenty of space and chairs, we did not have to wait for a table. We dined on a Saturday night and the restaurant was at perhaps 70% capacity? I loved the decor, the tables were clean, the cutlery and plates were clean. It was a good experience and we felt comfortable (no loud noise, not crowded, great ventilation, a lot of balcony seats available so dining in the summer would be so nice too).

Parking: Need to park in the Coles Five Dock parking location, and then walk to the restaurant. There is street parking available in surrounding areas, but the Coles parking would be the closest with...

We recently visited this Afghan restaurant and went with the $65 banquet menu. The flavours were excellent. Each dish had its own unique taste, and the variety made the whole experience feel special. It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into the food, and we really enjoyed trying a bit of everything. That being said, there were a couple of areas that left us slightly underwhelmed. The service was noticeably slow, with long gaps between courses, which made it hard to stay in the flow of the meal. The portion sizes also felt a little on the smaller side compared to the price of the banquet. What stood out, though, was the care shown by the lady owner. She noticed we seemed a bit disappointed, came over to chat with us, and kindly explained that they were short-staffed on the night. To make up for it, she treated us to complimentary tea. Overall, this is a restaurant with a lot of heart, great food, and genuine hospitality. With just a bit more attentiveness from the servers and some slight adjustments to portion sizes, I think they have every chance of becoming a five-star...

This is one of those restaurants I went in knowing that I'm gonna love it.. But sadly it was underwhelming. Now it could be that it was a bad day, so I will definitely give it another go but here is what went down bad in my first experience

We went with a group of 11 and the hostess kinda convinced that banquet was the way to go and stated that a la carte will arrive at different time for different people in the table. While the banquet starters came in soon but the mains were delayed enough that I have to mention it. I had to check with the waitress thrice before it came.

I do not know about the meat eaters but the vegetarian mains were so so. The vegetarian starters were better but nothing to write home about.

It would have been good if desserts were included but it was not and we had to pay an extra 5 per head for that which was not that great anyway.

Overall mediocre experience. Now the positives..

The ambience was great The a la carte menu looks great. Which is why I'm gonna try it again and hopefully things turn...

I'm still reeling from the incredible dining experience at this Afghan gem! Each dish was a masterful symphony of flavors and textures, with tender meats and rich, aromatic curries and biryani that left me craving more. Including the dumplings, they were a hit. Also their meat and chicken are halal. The cheese and garlic naan bread was utterly divine, while the refreshing lemon mint drink provided a perfect complement to the bold flavors. But what truly elevated the meal were the accompanying sauces – the coriander and chilli sauce, in particular, added an unforgettable depth to each dish. If you're a fan of Afghan cuisine or simply looking to try something new, do yourself a favor and visit this exceptional restaurant. I highly recommend it – you won't be disappointed!
