Barracks Bar — Restaurant in Sydney

A very happy group enjoyed the hospitality of the Barracks Bar recently.

We were warmly welcomed, and very well looked after, including a lovely fire to make us feel cozy on a cool winters day.

Food was presented very well and the variety was more than we expected from share plates to large plates, they covered everyone needs.

Our drinks were quickly dispensed and the coffees were just right.

The service was great, Clare was very helpful, and a wonderful way to spend a winters lunch with friends.

The good: very professional staff. Nice quiet area. Lighting quite low, so if you prefer well lit areas, look elsewhere. You will be able to hold a conversation, but sound carries quite well, so not very private. Steak was allowed to rest beautifully.

The bad: Food did not meet price point. Steak was overcooked. At $40 for the steak this can't be excused. To save yourself a expensive lesson order one below your preferred level. Medium --- medium rare. Medium rare --- rare. Rare ---...

Stayed at the Crown Plaza and dined at the harvest restaurant. Staff friendly and attentive without being to much. Order was taken ins timely manner and drinks arrived promptly after. The food menu was on the smaller side but it was really tasty, fresh and definitely hit the spot. Would recommend for a nice relaxed meal....
