South Windsor Pie Stop — Restaurant in Sydney

Was nice that they have a reasonable variety however I'm a firm believer a good pie doesn't need sauce. These pies needed sauce. Steak and Mushroom pie was nice that it had steak but the steak was kinda dry and lacking flavor. The half button mushrooms where almost raw. Other than that the filling was kinda dry and bland and lacking gravy. The pastry wasn't bad though, very dry and flaky and minor choking hazard if inhaled at the wrong time. The steak and pepper pie was also similar to the mushroom pie. Bland at best with a few chunks of steak. For the desert, a simple apple pie may as well of been straight out of a home brand store bought packet that had freezer burn. The pie was served straight from the fridge and had dry and crumbly pastry that rather than biting through cleanly tended to want to crumble apart a bit like a breadcrumb base to a cheesecake. The filling was of a similar flavor to that of baby food apple and was just a thick almost solid mash with nothing exciting about it. The whole experience with the apple pie made me wonder how many weeks ago the pie was made and how long it had been sitting in the refrigerator for. In saying that, with the location tucked back off the main road other than there being ample places to park I really don't see the point in returning when in my opinion there's a much better pie shop just a few km down the road near the water wheel in Windsor that is by far worth the extra time travelled and looking for a...

The pies are the best I have eaten, full of flavour & very full with all the ingredients. However, the daughter of the owner that is in charge is a control freak. Everytime I enter the pie shop, I am very anxious because I feel so rushed. She is not interested in providing customer service, she is just interested in quickly taking your order & rushing you out the door as quick as she can. I went with a friend & we both had the stamped pie card. We were paying seperate & wanted to do our orders separate, however, Miss Controlling said "I'll do it all at the end". I said "we are paying separate" & she took both cards & said "I'll do it at the end". I couldn't understand why she did not take my friends card first when she took her order & then did mine completely separate. I still believe that she counted our orders wrong & we didn't get a free pie from the card. She needs to be a little more understanding that people do not want to be rushed just because she is in a rush and has no customer service to be friendly with...

Couple of options for the Vego’s with a Moroccan Veg, Roast Veg and Pumpkin Rolls which is a solid option for a vego roll. Would love to see a curry roast veg… I reckon that would be world class 👌🙌

So many to choose from for the meat eaters. Have to get in quick for a pie, peas and mash as they’re always gone! Couple of other crackers to add to the list… curry chicken and veg, steak & mushie, Moroccan chicken and I even saw a pizza pie 🤨
