Accommodation on Friday 13/6/24: Winter time in Windsor and my room had no heater, no electric blanket, no chair, no bedside light, the sheet on the bed had many stains on it the colour of urine, no en-suite, sash cord broken on window so it couldn’t stay open, hole in wall and paint was peeling off the roof and walls in places. No cupboards, no hanging rack and not even a coat hanger in the room. Squeaky door so others would be disturbed when I entered or left room. Balcony outside the window was littered with dirty bottles and coffee cups. When I requested a heater and explained that the room was too cold with no heater or electric blanket, I was told it was a budget room! The staff attitude was “what do you expect” and I felt the staff member was trying to shame me. In fact the charge for this one night accommodation was $105 and the hotel had debited by credit card before I had arrived or seen the room. No apology was offered and I had to spend a freezing night in the room. The common areas of the hotel were warm, not my room. Much worse than my bedroom was the Ladies shared bathroom down the hall which is a definite health hazard. All walls and the ceiling were extremely mouldy - black mould - and a huge amount of paint was peeling off all walls. There was no lock on the entrance door to the shared bathroom and the toilet door didn’t close. Photos below show sheet on my bed and bathroom mould and paint peeling off wall in bathroom.

Great place to stay. Despite it being a pub, you still feel safe at night because of its location. It's a shame I didn't get the chance to try out the food downstairs when I was there (after seeing positive reviews from others), but it sure will be on my list. It also has plenty of street parking nearby, not to mention being so close to the parks, morning markets, restaurants and grocery stores. The only thing to mention is that the receptionist forgot to give me the key for the backdoor, this led to me going for exercise around 7am in the morning and had to wait till the pub opens at 10am to be able to enter my room... Overall, I had a good time.

Stinging hot Tuesday. Chenise at the bar made sure our little sausage dog wasn't too hot outside. Let us bring her in and gave her water. Wonderful job. And nice fish and chips. 👍

Took a friend there for lunch. Menu looked good, atmosphere looked nice ,but the food was absolutely the worst I've ever eaten. I ordered beef nachos without sour cream, something I order quite often if I eat out. I looked at the dish and thought gee so small a meal for the price I paid. I had to take it back as it seemed like it was vegetarian nachos, with a tomato based sauce and then cheese sauce drizzled over the top, just a tiny bit of avocado on top. They said no its beef. So I sent it back again and asked for one with more beef as it honestly just looked like tomato based sauce on top of nacho chips, then cheese sauce from a bottle drizzled on top then avo. Out came another dish the cook made ( I'll say cook as no good chef would dare send that out and call it nachos. ) What came back was the same only a larger version. Where was the beef mince, must of been pureed and poured into the sauce then cheese sauce drizzled on top. Actually couldn't see any beef but could see either lentils or chick peas poking out, no kidney beans at all ,absolutely disgusting, was just warm and tasteless, no wonder the place was empty with a cook like that. Would not recommend eating there. Maybe was just the cook on that day, but obviously had no idea what...

Rudest service out, from the minute we walked in . We are not local to Windsor as our children had a dance concert across the road we decided to have a drink and nibbles while we waited for it to start .It was a Saturday arvo and was 35 degrees outside and were told we had to sit outside as they needed to rearrange tables for dinner service at 6pm we arrived at 5pm and needed to be gone by 6pm.

We sweated outside while we waited for food, even worse having to listen to 7 highly intoxicated males loudly singing. When it was ready we asked to sit inside as it was empty and tables were moved, the chef said it’s fine too, the table we sat on was reserved but clearly said for 7pm, while eating we were interrupted a couple of times by rude staff members and made to feel like we needed to get out as they had a booking for that table even though it was not even 6pm. One of the bar ladies just steered at us the whole time as if we were not good enough to be there. There was a dog she even yelled at in front of us to get back upstairs and to go for a ‘wee’. This is the way she talked in-front of paying customers in a...
