Just an honest review from my few experiences at mckenzies. First of all seatings and atmosphere is standard nothing too fancy. The waitress from my last experience looked like she didn’t want to be there and didn’t come to take our orders even after prompting. I had to take my shirt off and wave it in the air while whistling to get her attention. When I ordered the food I asked for her to cut the bacon and egg roll in half because I wanted to share it with my girl. Food came out in reasonable time the slow cooked lamb tasted like the lamb was a bit old. Like mutton etc other ingredients with the macadamia and vegetation wasn’t too bad. The bacon and egg was probably to be honest one of the most dull and boring bacon and eggs I’ve ever had it was dry there was less then 30 grams of bacon a single slice with the tiniest bit of relish . The hash browns were okay. Wouldn’t recommend even after giving this place benefit of the doubt over the last few years. Time to close it up and put something better...

Ordered takeaway whilst with two young kids. It started to bucket down as we received our order and I asked if we could sit in the courtyard but was rejected by the owner. I went outside while it was pouring and ask the waiter staff again and she said that tables were reserved for dine in patrons and I got takeaway. The place was empty and the takeaway/dine in menu price is the exact same. I was told I could sit on a wet bench top (which was uncovered) but then it rained even more and I had to leave as we were all getting rained on. The staff didn’t even care. For a cafe that is situated right next to a playground they need to be more flexible and USE COMMON SENSE. We have been here a few times and the service has always been average but Never again!!! What an...

AVOID this place. Very RUDE staff. I ordered takeaway coffee. And given it was a hot day I asked for a glass of water. I was told to either buy a bottle of water or go and drink from the water fountain in the park. Both responses were pathetic and indicative of poor customer service. A bottle of water will cost planet earth a lot more money than the advertised price. I then pointed to refill glass bottles of water and asked if I could drink that - they said it was for 'dine in' customers only. There were only a handful of dine in customers....and atleast a dozen bottles filled with tap water that they could have offered me. Just shows the lack of kindness and soul in this place. I would strongly recommend...

Decided to try the cafe despite the bad review Those reviews biased and such crybabies šŸ˜‚ The food was crafted wholeheartedly and with great effort. The batch brew are one of the best qualities you can find in this industry if you a coffee enthusiast. Yes the service do have some improvements to do but people in hospitality are constantly under high stress, especially there’s so much self central and egotistical customer nowadays , I’d say they handle it pretty well. What else you expect the owner and staff to do ? Babysit your cat and do your taxes?šŸ˜‚

After reading the mixed reviews wanted to test quality of both service and food. The food and coffee match the expectations , happy faces , empty plates around me and their cold filtered coffee and pastry hit the spot for me. Service is aimed at those seating down for a meal, not take away, considering they disinfected a table thoroughly after a customer left I can see why they do it. Barista had a good knowledge of their coffee , and park next to it a great place to let the kids run.

I had a broken arm and i just came out of the hospital. I came here to grab a takeaway coffee and sat at the outdoor table. After their ā€œkindā€ hospitality, I decided to give them a 1 star review because: - they ā€œpolitelyā€ asked me to leave because all the tables are for dine in customers only even though they are not busy - a takeaway double espresso cost me $4.80 in a large take away paper cup.
