Cakemania — Restaurant in Sydney

These guys literally took the order online and gave no cake. Came into the store and they tell us they've given the cake to someone else. No ID check, no call to us. Nothing. Offered no solution to the issue whatsoever. Lady at the counter initially came with a cake from someone with a very similar name, we then asked if it was possible that this person with the similar name could have received our cake. Apparently not because she is a good friend of Wayne's (red flag)we were given the excuse which I don't buy quite frankly "someone came in and described the cake exactly and took it two hours before". This was for a work party, so a colleague called, when pressed to call the person with the similar cake to see if she had picked it up, it was not possible as miraculously she had just walked in.. amazing!! Our colleague was then offered a once in a life time solution, to get another cake... don't worry it gets better. After travelling 20 mins she was met with Wayne wanting to charge for the cake. I guess all us negative reviewers have some sort of cake dealing syndicate according to Wayne.. atleast be honest with your customers mate, you're more interested in finding excuses and making money rather than actual good customer service. This place needs to be called circus mania instead with the clown level of customer service.oh and stop deflecting Wayne, the one swear word was put of frustration when the only level of service I got was smirks from behind the counter. It's pretty obvious that your inadequate staff gave our cake to someone else, and your absolute lie of an excuse that someone came in describing a cake with which no one ever does mind you is absolute nonsense. And before Wayne starts lying through his teeth, his staff member was giving us his "good friend's" cake to us.. God knows who else has received other people's cakes just because their name sound similar. Enjoy the free cash. Going by Wayne's other reviews, he shouldn't worry about us scamming him for free dry cake, WE as customers should be more concerned about him scamming us which seems to happen quite regularly, and only met with lies...

We ordered a theme based cake with dietary restrictions, worked with Wayne who is apparently a Director here, after finalizing everything with him and paid for cake delivery at the specific time, he got the cake delivered 5 hours early without thinking about the temperature and where it will be kept given it was a kids entertainment center. After talking to him on the day, he didn’t care about this and told us that other wedding cakes and events takes priority; Was that comment from a Director? not at all professional. Every customer pays the price, no one is taking service for free. He needs to learn how to be professional, respect and treat everyone equally, respect diversity being in Australia. We always take an oath as a part of the Country's way to pay respect and Wayne sounded totally opposite. Additionally the cake design (taylor swift) came out so weird, everyone laughed and it was a total mess and disaster. Wayne is apparently running a low standard business with a discriminated ways of working. I highly recommend people to post transparent reviews here on Google as he controls and filters testimonies on his website; only posts the positive ones. I realised this after I tried to post on cakemania but Wayne never let it posts as he filters out transparent feedback. I even emailed him with no response. He was nasty and disgraceful over the phone with me. I will never recommend his place to anyone as he won’t care about your money. I want everyone to read this comment.

Wayne responded saying I’m upset as I didn’t get the expected response whereas I’m not happy with his attitude, ego and the way he operates. Looks like he is disturbed with negative feedback as he deserves this, total lie. Some of other customers bad feedback below also speaks his negative business attitude. He is trying to prove that he has right intentions but as a Customer we can speak on the feedback. He has got his money. Wayne - Go and first learn to be respectful, honest and true to what you do…don't discriminate! Look at the photo you made on the cake, no way near to a good...

A few weeks ago, I was searching for a cake that was both vegan and gluten free for a work event. Luckily, I came across Cake Mania! I emailed Wayne who was quick to respond and I was pleasantly surprised at how diverse and accommodating their special diet menu is!

I ordered the cake, picked it up a couple of days later, and honestly wasn't expecting much for a vegan & gluten free cake but it was really delicious! We all really loved it! The cake was not at all dry and was really flavourful! It tasted like a "regular" cake and the best thing about it was that it wasn't overly sweet - it was so perfectly balanced and left you wanting more! Delicious 😋

Then last week, a cookie vendor for a Hen's Party that I had organised was unable to fulfill my order due to a personal emergency and notified me a week before the Hens! I was really struggling to find anyone who could fulfil this order on short notice and a lot the sellers I came across were not in NSW so the order wouldn't ship / arrive in time. And then I thought I'd just reach out to Wayne and see if he could help, and he did! I wanted paint your own 🍆 cookies and Cake Mania did it!!!! He included the paintbrush, the paint sheets, a serviette and the cookies and even made a gluten free box! The girls all loved it and everyone said it was really delicious 💖 everyone got to take home their painted creations and had a great time! Yay for Cake Mania!
