The smoothie was okay. It was quite bland. I got the strawberry smoothie. The taste is very healthy so perhaps it's not like that commerical taste we are normally used to like Boost Juice. For a regular size it was $8.50 for a tiny size. My gosh I was shocked. Also it took a while. Like it felt ages.
So i guess value for money is not there. I much prefer boost juice regarding taste, delivery time and price.
In terms of customer service, look... the male barista who served me on a Saturday lunch time today seemed busy with making coffees and he has a 'too cool for school attitude' which i accepted at first.
Then the female staff who called my name when it was ready, she was also on the medium side. Not super friendly but not rude. In the middle regarding her level of customer service. It was like "michelle" and I came back to find and i was lost to find it. And she just pointed to the smoothies and didnt give eye contact and turned her face to look at the people on the street.
I guess the whole vibe when I stepped in was like... "We are too cool to seem happy. We got attitude coz we got a funky store playing cool music. I know you stepped in the store, but imma gonna ignore your presence. I know you want to order, im busy, and I wont acknowledge you, you just have to wait."
I dont know, maybe that's just me. But I certainly didnt feel welcomed!
I hope this review is shown to the owner so that they could give this feedback to the staff members. Also to sustain their business, their brand and operations, I highly suggest to maximize their staff and train them to be more positive friendly people.
To me I think, the staff need to smile and make a customer feel good about themselves that they are consuming a healthy product.
I went there coz I was super curious and wanted to try out their healthy cold beverages. And on the outside, it looks like they got vibes.
Also from the outside, they are never busy. They seem kinda quiet compared to their neighboring cafes.
But now I guess that's done, and I probs wont go back nor recommend anyone to go there.
Sorry for such a long review but I had to explain that the vibes were quite cold,...
Read more“REALLY DISAPPOINTING “ . As Coogee locals My Fiancé and I come here every weekend (sometimes more) , because we love Açai and like to support our local businesses and unfortunately nothing at Cali Press Coogee ever changes. We each have a large Açai bowl , ( $45 total) , and it’s ALWAYS inconsistent. Mostly half or two thirds full , missing blueberries (“which they Claim they didnt have multiple times even though malonys green grocer is across the road , so I used to buy my own punnet as they wouldn’t even substitute for something else , “WTA” ) , the bananas are sometimes way over ripe or even frozen (not fresh) , strawberries mostly good but hit and miss and the Acai is always inconsistent , either runny as hell ,(soup), like it’s been left out on the bench all day , or frozen. I always ask and pay for extra peanut butter and I always have to remind the staff. The tables are always filthy and never wiped down and they have only just recently decided a bin inside the door is actually a good idea 🤦♂️.! The staff turn over here is high and I suspect this is part of the problem. I have stopped coming here recently because I’m sick and tired of not getting what I pay for and it’s a complete lucky dip. Strangely enough , Cali Press at Bondi , Bronte and Randwick are all amazing and they nail it every time. On a positive note , they did finally replace the broken table out the front after “18 MONTHS” , so congrats on that ✅. Sadly I’m not rushing back any time soon ( a bit scared tbh) *NEW MANAGEMENT perhaps?
I’ll let you guys be...
Read moreAs a Cali Press die hard fan, I have to say i was super disappointed with the service i received today. I ordered a juice and a large Acai bowl, the sign clearly says "JUICE SPECIAL ALL 315ML", hence i grabbed the beets one circled in the photo.
However the lady whos the "manager" charged me $7.50 for juice and handed me a SMALL acai, and when i point it out the $5 juice sign, she argued back saying that only applies for the juice next to the sign. Then why would you put all of them in one row and saying "ALL" to mislead your customers?
I genuinely believe that she made mistakes for my order but didn't want to admit and make me look like a fool who can't read signs. As someone who also had many years of hospo experience, this was unacceptable. $32 for a bad experience really ruined a...
