We had dinner at Teriyaki Boy Balmain after a long walk. The staff was friendly and helped to accommodate the pram. The service was great. The place was quiet and we liked that. We had miso soup, chicken skewers, sushi rolls, king fish misobata, and some dessert (fried banana and red beans spring rolls). Everything was delicious, although the king fish was slightly overcooked for my taste. My toddler loved the miso soup and the chicken. We will be back.

Healthy authentic Japanese food in a very quaint little restaurant. You feel as though you are eating in someone’s home! Lots of dishes to try and more choices are available on the board when you walk in. It does get very busy though due to its popularity so booking is essential. There are also 2 tables outside which come in handy for people dining with their dog.

Freshly made sashimi with fresh fresh fresh fish. Chicken skwer was so tender and tasty. Authentic wasabi that is neither too wasabiy nor lack of a bite. Cozy environment with friendly staff. The place is run by real Japanese crew. Very good experience and definitely an attraction.

Very disappointed as had high expectations for this popular restaurant.

Ordered an entree, 2 main courses and a dessert but felt it was overpriced for what you received with such small portions.

The salt and pepper calamari were 8 tiny finger nail sized pieces which mostly tasted of batter. You could get more calamari at the local fish and chip shop for the price paid.

The wagyu steak and ginger beef was very disappointing and overrated considering the portion and the home made sauce didn't taste anything special. Whilst there was no rice, a bit of vegetables would have been better than both dishes coming with salad but the baby leaves salad resembled more a garnish. Ordered a bowl of rice which was tiny for $4 so wouldn't go hungry

The red bean spring rolls were the size of a cigarette in girth and with ice cream extra, this was an expensive dessert.

I don't have any issues tipping when I dine out but this was hard to stomach when asked considering the amount of money spent for so little.

This place is popular and convenient for locals but for those who venture out from the neighbourhood, there are better Japanese food options that are so much better value for money and quality in...

I have walked by this place many times and had heard good things about it. Finally three of us dropped by for dinner and loved it.

Nice menu with daily specials. This is just good good presented simply that tastes amazing. Nothing on the menu we ate that I didn’t like. Great sashimi, great salad and the teriyaki salmon and Wafu beef was out of this world.

Very friendly and nice people, very accommodating and food was prepared relatively quickly. Loved it and would come back here any day. Portion size is more towards the Japanese way of doing but the ingredients were fresh, clean...

Fantastic neighborhood restaurant with super helpful and friendly staff. Our kids both have severe food allergies and often restaurants and weight staff shrug it all off as ok or just say no to any risk. The team at Teriyaki boy brought out any ingredients they thought could be risky like tempura batter, mustard in dressings or agadeshi tofu batter to double check with us. We now come back every couple weeks and one of the few places we trust and our kids...
