FISHBOWL - Rozelle — Local services in Sydney

Needed a quick bite before a gig down at The Bridge and noticed this open on Easter Saturday. So glad we opted for this - was aware that Fishbowl is a chain and glad my first experience was at Rozelle. Salad was filling and delicious - went with the OG chicken, very tasty sauce and opted for a base of brown rice and cabbage which I think was a perfect blend as a companion just had rice which I think filled him up too much. Service was patient and friendly considering it was our first time so took us a while to make decisions. The restaurant had cool, comfy seating and seemed to be doing a roaring food pickup service. I think this is a very budget friendly place to eat a good meal. The only things I would love to see for improvement is - even though I rate the size of the meal and its appearance when served as awesome, I did find it a bit frustrating that the size of the bowl makes it difficult to mix the toppings into the base until you’ve gotten quite a number of bites into the meal - maybe bowls could be slightly larger ? Secondly, when ordering my meal there was a display cabinet of drinks, none of which really appealed to me on sight and just when I had resigned myself to having no liquids during the meal we realised after sitting for a bit that they had free tap water and glasses down near the prep section of the counter. I guess I just want people to be aware of this in case they feel obliged to buy a drink - you can get free water which again is another awesome service. Enjoyed the meal thoroughly and am looking forward to trying different bowls and different locations...

I tried Fishbowl in Rozelle for the first time as a local today. My first impression was terrible. I was greeted by a very emotional man who treated me with terrible disrespect and rudeness when I attempted to order for the first time. He showed such impatience rolling his eyes frequently when I asked him a question. I called him out on his rudeness which he acknowledged and apologised offering a small discount. The other staff were friendly and kind, unfortunately one bad example of unprofessional behaviour ruined my experience and my day. This unfortunately reflects badly on the rest of the team. Excited when these guys opened but haven't had the best experience. First time there yesterday and was waiting for ages for our order, went to check and they had forgotten our order completely but were good to make it up quickly. Decided to go back for lunch today and got the miso eggplant bowl only to get all the way home to realise they forgot the eggplant. Went back to the shop to inform them and get it thinking all was good, but when I got back home discovered they also didn't put the rice in for the base. The food is yummy but pretty frustrating to have these issues on 2 consecutive days - hopeful it's just while they find their feet but hesitant to try for...
