The minute I walked in the waiter with the beard and glasses seemed to be upset that I had actually arrived… He was not very hospitable and seemed to be upset at the fact that I wanted confirmation that Tobys Estate was the coffee they used.

I was there to get some urgent work done. I must say if it wasn’t for the young lady that came to help me correct the coffee order. I probably would’ve got up and left. I was planning to order food and have my work colleagues join me, but changed my mind after the service I received.

I felt so uncomfortable that I even offered to pay again so that my coffee can be what I actually wanted. It’s a shame because I come to this area regularly and I will generally source Tobys Estate in the past. I would go to Waves but they have changed their coffee.

I’m not sure if I’ll ever be going back to this one as the atmosphere coupled with the service made me feel unwelcome

Had to repeat everything I said over and over again, and still could not "get through" to her. Honestly - what if a customer was VIOLENTLY ALLERGIC to a stated ingredient, and was misunderstood as requesting MORE of it!!!!?????!!?

(Examples: I tried to ask if it COST EXTRA to add smoked salmon to Eggs Benedict. She thought I was asking for "extra salmon". Then when I tried to correct her on this, she suddenly thought I was asking for fried EGGS instead of poached!! How the #*@& she got THAT into her head, I have NO IDEA!!!! Just wow! Ever been turned away because the 'kitchen was closed' or they were out of something well this cafe had all that. EXCEPT one of the staff (male with a man-bun; ) said "well do you like chicken.. cause the chef made me lunch before he left you and can have mine" and gave me the most amazing chicken salad I have ever have. Quinoa, brown rice and a dressing i wish I could drink! Service like this is rare and this made my day! I will be coming back - family and friends in...
