Terrible experience at Little Rock Cafe - Weak, watery coffee - won’t return

I had been to this Little Rock Cafe Baulkham Hills twice before with friends about 2 years ago. Back then, the cappuccino was acceptable. However, I eventually stopped going and started visiting the cafe inside the shopping centre nearby, where the coffee is constantly much better.

On the morning of 18 June, I returned to this cafe with a friend, simply for convenience after parking. There were two Asian staff members behind the counter. My friend ordered two cappuccinos for $10.00 and sat at a table indoors.

A few minutes later, one of the staff members came over with the drinks. She handed one cup directly to me and placed the other on the table, as I was facing the direction she approached from. She didn’t say a single word, made no eye contact, and wore an unpleasant expression. I still thanked her, as I always do, but received no response. The attitude was cold and unwelcoming.

We were surprised to receive the drinks in takeaway paper cups with plastic lids - we had not asked for takeaway and expected proper cups. That was disappointing enough, but the coffee itself was even worse. It was barely warm, watery, overly milky, and taste was extremely weak, only a slight hint of coffee flavour. It didn’t taste freshly brewed or made from real, quality coffee beans.

We only took a few sips before giving up. It was very disappointing. This experience was unacceptable, especially from a cafe franchise that should know better. We won’t be returning or recommending to this cafe, and I certainly won’t be bringing friends here again.

I checked the menu in the window and was pleasantly surprised to see they had vegan dishes so I went in, sat down and ordered a vegan burger and green tea. After taking my order the waitress came back and said they didn’t have any vegan patties and would falafel be ok. I said yes, that would be fine. My tea arrived and it was a tea bag. The burger arrived and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement! It consisted of a bun, two falafels, a slice of lettuce and a slice of tomato! I think there was a smattering of sauce as I saw something resembling sauce but the serving was too small to notice. It was tasteless and extremely poor value as I was charged $23.50 for a tea bag, two falafels, a bun, slice of lettuce and a slice of tomato! The waitress asked me how my burger was - I told her honestly, pathetic. The gentleman at the cash register also asked how my meal was and I told him it wasn’t very good as it was dry and poor value. He said vegan patties are normally dry. I told him I didn’t get a patty, I got falafel. The reason it was dry was because there wasn’t any dressing/sauce, and the salad consisted of a lettuce leaf and slice of tomato. I was really disappointed as I had been excited to see they were catering for vegans and I was hoping this would be my ‘go to’ place for lunch or breakfast. I won’t be back based on today’s poor...

I visit Little Rock Cafe for breakfast and lunch almost every week, and each visit is a delight. The coffee is always perfect, and the food is consistently delicious. The service is top-notch, and the staff's friendly hospitality makes every visit enjoyable and welcoming.

For breakfast, you can't go wrong with their Big Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Vegetarian Omelette, Haloumi Breakfast, or Pancakes. Each dish is well-prepared, flavorful, and satisfying. The variety ensures there’s something for everyone, no matter your preference.

For lunch, the options are just as impressive. I highly recommend the Chicken Schnitzel, Atlantic Salmon, Beef Burger, Chicken and Pesto Pasta, and Veggie Delight Pasta. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients and is bursting with flavor.
