10s 10s 10s!!!! If 6 stars existed, I’d give them 10. Went to chickanji with my best friend and her partner and was not disappointed. I enjoy charcoal chicken, A LOT, probably more than the normal person, so my expectations are always very high. Chickanji really humbled me. Not only was the chicken absolutely incredible in terms of flavour, taste, consistency, but they also had fried chicken?!!?! Literally some of the best fried chicken you’ve ever had. These guys might just KFC out of business… the flavour on the chicken (don’t get me started on the flavour of the crumb!!!! Beautiful and crispy!) was so amazing, I genuinely couldn’t believe it. Juicy and cooked to perfection, it rivals Raising Cane’s. The shared plate we got was absolutely PHENOMENAL!! Really takes this place to a whole new level and gives everyone so many options incase they don’t like charcoal chicken (if you don’t, please visit a doctor 🙏🏼 get well), but you think they’ve only got the savoury covered?? WRONG!! Chickanji also has your sweet tooth covered. With amazing delicacies to leave you fuller than a fat ladies sock, they had to roll me out of that place in the pram that my friend had her baby in. Top the meal off with the exquisite lemonade (try one flavour only? Absolutely NOT!) — I couldn’t decide which I liked more, the strawberry or the original. Nothing better than some old school lemonade!

The food is incredible and definitely will be coming back. But what really REALLY elevates this place above a lot of the other eateries around that Wetherill park area, is the family presence. Not only is it a family run business, with the kids happily helping out, but they make YOU feel like family too. The crew is incredibly welcoming and warm, greeted with smiles and jokes, I literally didn’t want to leave. Chickanji team, thank you so so much for an incredible feed. I have relocated to QLD so only visit Sydney here and there but I’m BEGGING for some stores in OLD! The world needs...

Look the food when it first opened was amazing and unfortunately it’s going down hill. The portion sizes are not even worth the money. The skew plate of chips, drink bread and 2 skewers for $30 is a rip off. Worst of all I paid 22$ for 2 kofta skewers. Now at that price you’d expect to have a nice big thick juicy kofta skewer.. instead it wasn’t even 2cm by 7 cm. Yet when I told them the girl on the desk looked at me and smiled when I told her “would you pay $11 for one of those?” Not even the manager was happy, she opened her eyes and saw how small they are. Now I’m not sure what’s going on at chickanji but I’d probably go somewhere else that gives you a combination of quality and quantity. It is very expensive there and I’ll no longer be going back as it is a rip off. I’ll attach the photo of the kofta skewer for reference which is absolutely disgusting how small it is for the price. I’d rather go açai house and get a açai which was better than a small depressed kofta. I was seeing other reviews and the kofta is way thicker and bigger and when it first opened it was big.

Guys I’m calling it now this shop will be like paradise chicken… little to no one coming to it. They’re starting to cut corners and it’ll show eventually and it’ll have little to no customers. I’d pick the act up guys before you lose everyone. Very sad and upsetting what you guys are doing, they thought because I was young they could take advantage of me by ripping me off. I’d be very careful if you’re young going there or even if you cannot speak up.

I like how I got a refund and when I asked can I have an extra 2 pieces for free she declined as she claimed “that is the new size kofta comes in” well enjoy losing...

🌟 Chickanji – A Hidden Gem in Wetherill Park You Need to Try 🌟

If you're on the hunt for the ultimate chicken fix in Wetherill Park, Chickanji should be your next stop. This place doesn’t just serve food – it serves flavour explosions on a plate. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances casual dining with a cool, modern edge.

The Food: The star of the show is, of course, the chicken – and Chickanji nails it. Their signature grilled chicken is perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, and full of bold, smoky flavour. The peri-peri options pack just the right amount of heat, while the crispy chicken burgers are crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and layered with fresh, vibrant toppings.

Sides & Sauces: Don’t sleep on the sides – their loaded fries and creamy slaw are addictive, and the house-made sauces take everything to another level. Whether you're a fan of fiery chili, tangy garlic, or something sweet and spicy, there's something to elevate every bite.

Service & Atmosphere: Service is fast and friendly, with staff who genuinely care about your experience. The vibe is relaxed, clean, and family-friendly, making it great for everything from a casual lunch to a weekend dinner hangout.

Final Verdict: Chickanji is more than just a chicken spot – it’s a full-on flavour destination. Whether you're local to Wetherill Park or just passing through, this is one place worth going out of your way for. Great food, great people(excl. You know who because small and evil), and great value.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Unmissable for any chicken lover. Chickanji...

I came here with my mum, and at first, we were overwhelmed with choices, so we tried to get a bit of everything. Incredibly, everything came out really fresh and it was very cost effective!! The mixed plate was so good, the lamb was really tender and juicy. Usually, when I get it elsewhere, it's hard and chewy. The kafta and the tawouk were cooked to perfection! You can tell they worked really hard for this incredible flavour combination. Their chips are perfectly seasoned, and the hommus is so smooth and addictive. Their falafel is really crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I liked that their tahini sauce wasn't dense. The winner is the chicken dinner! No joke, their charcoal chicken takes like it's straight out of lebanon (if you know you know) and I was really surprised that they nailed the flavours so well. I don't even want to eat Frangos or El Jannah ever again, nothing is better than the chicken at Chickanji!! Their toum (garlic) absolutely SLAPS!! Lastly we had the original knafah for dessert. It took some time as they were making it fresh and BOY WAS IT WORTH IT! The syrup was nice and hot and the centre was so cheesy! I love a good knafah cheese pull! The owner was very attentive to us and made sure we were satisfied with our experience at Chickanji. There's still so much more on the menu my mum and I would like to try and we can't wait to come back 😍
