FAT Franks — Restaurant in Sydney

Came last night for dinner and was truly disappointing. Have been here before and have to say quality has truly declined. Don’t order the side of popcorn chicken- has zero taste and doesn’t even look like chicken. Fries were over cooked as well. Ordered extra meat and was charged for extra meat but didn’t get extra meat. Our Philly cheese steaks were wrapped in the most poor quality paper that by the time we got to the car and unwrapped it there were bits of paper in your food. For the price of the meal you’d hope they’d at least put in packaging that withstood a short walk to the car? For a restaurant I have to say food handling and hygiene is disappointing. Staff don’t wear hairnets and have long hair.. thought simple OHS would dictate a hair net in a kitchen or simple hand hygiene. Staff also use their bare hands to cook food, touch bread rolls and touch their faces and go back to handling your food without washing their hands. Truly just gross.

Edit: To the lovely business who’s responded to my review it’s great to see that you’ve got a great attitude toward customer service. Perhaps instead of accusing your customers you can reflect on the review and try to improve the business and service. I don’t know what you’re talking about as I did not come back for a refund nor did I eat half my meal and bring it back? I also did not swear at one of your workers, that’s something I would never do as a person so perhaps instead of accusing your customers - actually read the review and work on the issues mentioned. I do however regret not asking for a refund but good to note for future customers that if they’re as unhappy as I was they can bring their food back for a refund. I still have my receipt and order number and if you’d like to discuss this further feel free to contact me. I will however escalate my OHS concerns about your business’s staff hygiene and safe food handling to the food authority NSW so thank you for your reply. Edit: owner or whoever manages the Fat Franks google site has said that we can check the girls hair? What does that even mean? Simple health standards would dictate if you have long hair you should wear a hairnet. Also owner has sent a previously passive aggressive reply to my review but instead has changed it since to make their business sound better than what it is. Truly shameful.

We ordered 1 ft long mushroom cheese steak and another 6 inch but same flavor. We asked for extra meat for both but only the ft long got extra meat, the other did not. They charged $12 for this.. We also ordered chips and popcorn chicken, which had no flavor whatsoever and was not even seasoned. Let’s get into the ft long cheesesteak which had no flavor as well, meat was falling all over the place. The team members used what seemed to be paper which is even weaker than tissues that get wet, which upon touching my food would practically melt and stick to the food. The team members also did not wear hair nets to cover their long hair soo good luck to anyone eating and finding some long girls hair. Here’s the kicker, it was $66 all together. Oh we did order a milkshake which to be honest you need to be pretty special if you can mess that one up.

We have been here before and it was better than what we got this time. Super sad and hope to see an improvement for the future however we will definitely...

Known for its FAT HERO’S and PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS not wide variety simple don’t think so hard menu.

The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, with friendly service that adds to the overall experience. It’s the kind of spot where you can just relax, enjoy some comfort food, and leave feeling happy and full.

Plenty of parking however it will get busy and sometimes might need to do a few laps before getting a spot, awesome complex with a large variety of shops to visit nice day out.

For my face and my big ass stomach I picked the “Smokin Hot Fat Chick Meal” my son the “Chicken Cheese Steak” my daughter a “Fat Oreo Shake” off course what else can you expect from a 9 yo. All I can say is it was GOOOOOOODDD…….I little too much lettuce for me but hey we have to be heathy. Went head first and.....MATE I tells ya!! It was nice crisp chicken the right amount of heat nice sauce compliments the flavour.

The cheese steak another big bang of flavour,,,,,and the chips WOW best seasoning I had in a while since my local chicken shop 35 years ago I tells ya,,,it’s a must try.

Price was reasonable, size was reasonable. A good 4 stars for me I am holding off 1 star because the cutlery was a bit dirty.

But a great experience...
