I booked the function room called La Casa located on level one of Club Five Dock RSL for My Engagement party and from the moment I reached out for their services, the experience was exceptional. Their team is a dream to work with, always attentive and eager to bring our vision to life. They made the entire process a breeze, from conceptualisation to execution.

The Catering that Carmel produced for our event was nothing short of mouth watering and delicious. The choices and freedom to choose our menu was a good plus, as they were open to any and all of my queries. The team definitely took into consideration every detail when it came to planning and made sure all our guests were happy and full at the end of the night.

As I explained to a friend, so excited in the tradition, our favorite place to go, please don’t be disappointed it’s no longer the same. I stood back to watch as her partner waited to be served staff finished their conversation, I heard him exclaim, are you finished because I would hate to be a pain. I stepped forward to pay the bill not wanting their experience to be as previously experienced by me. It was the same blonde lady from my previous pain. As they sat I ordered a bottle and asked about the featured wine, she advised I could not swap as the order had been entered, my friend a publican said as long as I didn’t touch it, my order could change? They’re just completing shifts and getting paid It’s a new culture, it’s no longer the same, Service is not part of their game. At 6:00pm the ordered respect for fallen soldiers, we all stood in silence, except for staff to the shock of all talked till the end, laughing like the greatest joke told. My Grandfather was a soldier, took part in two wars, we don’t celebrate the war, but comer-ate so many young men who died for us all. First timers at Club Five Dock and we became members! Their 5 year membership is only $20, and it comes with interesting perks including: a $15 meal voucher, 4 drinks vouchers, a Keno voucher and raffle vouchers. As we went for lunch, signing up for their membership was a no-brainer ;-) We were in a group of 7 adults with 2 kids, and their 5 Elements Restaurant is a great place to have lunch in as there's a cool play area for the kiddos so you can keep an eye on the kids while you're having a meal. I ordered their "Roast broccoli and cauliflower salad with fetta" which was amazingly good, while my hubby got their burger with fries (he enjoyed it). A member of our party ordered the Nachos and she said they were lame, and wouldn't order them again. Her husband had the steak sandwich and it looked great. Another member of our party ordered the prawns dish with rice and she really enjoyed it: there were many prawns in her dish. Her husband ordered the salmon and said it was pretty good, with a great veggie accompaniment, though the salmon was a tad overcooked. I ordered their house red and it was a generous pour.
