I ordered a Shakshuka and my bf ordered a Kofta roll. We also got an Almond Latte and my bf wanted to try their Turkish tea. Kofta roll was delicious (10/10). The tea and coffee were good too. Before ordering the Shakshuka I asked the waitress what sucuk (this was their substitute for chorizo) was and she explained its a beef suasage and I said thats fine. However there was no sucuk in my Shakshuka. It was $20.90 which I thought quite pricey for just tomato, an egg, feta and bread. I told this to another waitress. She said she has to check first with the lady who took our order. She then came back and offered us two options to make a new dish or give sucuk on the side. I said sucuk on the side is fine. It took quite some time for the sucuk to arrive by then my dish was cold 😞. However I dont think this is a big deal, things like this happen, it was quite busy and I get it, the kitchen would have been busy. Why I wanted to write this review was for another reason. when my bf paid the gentleman (he was also the barista), told my bf they didnt charge us for drinks because of what happened with my dish. We never asked anything for free! Tbh I was surprised and thought it was so nice of him to do that. So we both left and then I did the math. He just lied to our face and charged the full amount including drinks. I just dont understand why he lied to us like that. We didnt ask for any free stuff! And didnt even bring this complain up when we were going to pay. I felt bad because it felt like we were being fooled. EDIT: Thanks for the acknowledgement! Im changing my rating from 1 to 4. Thank you for the apology. Good luck!

Turkish breakfast was nice - covers off what you'd expect. Whether it's here or Türkiye - you get that experience. I had a chicken burger here (southern style) and that was great (they may have changed the menu and that item may no longer be there unfortunately - but that was my go to lunch item). I tried the Wagyu beef burger - it was ok. Looks aesthetic when you get it. Friends / family always enjoys the lentil soup / mercimek çorbası (I haven't had this item). My partner also enjoyed the Fajitas as well (beef was chosen - there was also the option of chicken or prawn). Woodfired pizza here is solid - and I did enjoy the vegetarian one from memory. Coffee is Campos (so they get that baseline coffee blend right). I have enjoyed coffee here in the past. That said, my tastes have changed, and I tend to seek cafes that have different blends which are not readily available at a supermarket. This comment is a personal preference and doesn't detract from the score. In terms of service, it is hospo so people come and go. The consistency is the manager - and he's been there for quite a bit - and takes pride in his work. He has very successfully brought that inner west / Surry Hills feel into Auburn (and I applaud him for that). They do events here too (so for larger gatherings - but you'd obviously need to book in advance). Lastly, any family, friends, or co-workers brought here have always enjoyed the food. They got a good thing going on here.

Both meals were way too oily... Please stick to making Middle Eastern food and leave the pasta dishes to the Italians... The smell of Ghee or something similar was oozing out of my skin for hours after I ate... I don't know how qualified of a cook your chef is but from the taste of the dish, this was not cooked by a professional chef. I can't understand why many great restaurants have ditched amazing local passionate chefs and opted to hire young 'Nepalese' (No idea how to cook and no love!) students... Lets talk basics... Get your Nepalese (so called chef) student to put together a traditional turkish kebab, then get any Turk off the streets in Auburn to make one and taste the difference... These Nepali students you hire are not chefs nor cooks... They have less than 50hours of experience then they call themselves a chef... Lebanese restaurants and pizza shops have learnt the hard way, and after loosing many customers and receiving complaints, now have gone back to hiring Lebanese cooks, why... Because we cook from the heart... I have posted a Pic of my bowl 1 hour after I eaten and you can clearly see what was originally oily substance had dried into this yellow ghee looking substance... The meal was chicken and mushroom penne pasta. I will not be returning until I know you have replaced your cooks with local passionate chefs that cook from their heart and not to pay their University fees.

I have been a regular patron at Cook n Co in Auburn, frequently visiting with my family. However, my recent visit with friends was a disappointing and shocking experience due to the poor service we received.

Upon arriving, my friends and I waited for 20 minutes without being served any food. Concerned about the delay, I approached a staff member, who was a family member of the owner, to inquire politely about the wait time. To our astonishment, the owner himself came over and began speaking to us in a rude and disrespectful manner. He accused us of being rude to his family, even though our inquiry was polite and simple.

The owner's demeanor was extremely unprofessional and hostile. His choice of words was inappropriate, leaving my friends and me in shock. He falsely claimed that I had disrespected his wife, despite the fact that I had not even spoken to her. She also unnecessarily intervened in the situation, escalating the tension.

The owner's response to our simple question was uncalled for, stating rudely, "Don't you know how long the food takes? We're serving fresh food here." This type of attitude is unacceptable, especially from the owner of a restaurant.

Moreover, the overall staff behavior was unfriendly and unaccommodating. This experience has left me questioning the hygiene and service standards at Cook n Co. As someone with over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I can confidently say that this kind of behavior is not only unexpected but also detrimental to a business.

If this is how the owner treats customers, I doubt Cook n Co will remain in business for long. I wish I had recorded the entire situation to provide concrete proof of the poor service and rude behavior we faced.

To the owner: Your attitude and service need significant improvement. Treating customers with disrespect and hostility is no way to run a business. I strongly advise potential visitors to consider this review before dining at Cook n Co.

Well, I appreciate your response. However, I must point out several inaccuracies and your unprofessional conduct during the incident. Also, just to clarify, this is my daughter’s Google account.

Firstly, your assumption about my identity is incorrect, and it's inappropriate to make such accusations. Regardless of the details you provided, the key issue here is the manner in which my simple inquiry was handled. Additionally, the way you replied to my review is aggressive, and your tone is confrontational.

My friend and I waited for an extended period without any communication from your staff. When I approached a staff member to politely inquire about the wait time, I was met with rudeness and defensiveness, primarily from you. Your claim that I was aggressive is false. In fact, it was your aggressive behavior that escalated the situation.

You approached me with a confrontational attitude, accusing me of being rude without any basis. Your wife’s intervention, which you describe as calm, only added to the unnecessary tension. Your response here mirrors the hostility and unprofessionalism we experienced during our visit.

Your defensive tone and refusal to acknowledge the possibility of any fault on your part or your staff's only reinforce my negative experience. Successful businesses thrive on respectful and constructive interactions with their customers, something that was clearly lacking in this situation.

I suggest you reconsider how you handle customer inquiries and feedback. Treating customers with such hostility will only harm your business in...
