🌶️ Rawson Supermarket Review – When “Namaste” Got Left at the Border

Rawson Supermarket in Auburn, a place with the heart of Nepal but sadly, not much of its soul (or product range). You walk in hoping to feel a little piece of home, but instead you’re greeted by a shelf that’s as empty as the vibe. Still, I go. Why? Because I genuinely want to support our local Nepali businesses. Loyalty over luxury, right?

But let’s talk about the tall guy at the counter. My guy. You’re not guarding a palace gate. You’re running a community store. This isn’t Nepal where you can get away with “expressionless silence” and stare at customers like they’re asking for a loan. This is Australia, people expect a hello, maybe even a “How’s your day?” if we’re lucky.

Customer service isn’t rocket science. It’s just basic respect with a smile. You might be tall, but your attitude’s dragging the whole experience down. Don’t make people regret supporting their own. The products might be limited, fine, we can live with that. But if the attitude is on special every day, eventually even the most loyal customers will...

Warning customers, please do not shop here at all. As products are unsafe for consumption as they are expired or contain bugs which is a health risk. I visited the shop today for a refund or an exchange of product, but the service was denied completely on top of it. The owner of the business called on some muscle and then the hitman threatened me physically to leave the store as I was only asking for a refund, There were several bugs in the rice that I purchased from the shop I have attached a video. I would say this is the worst shop in Auburn and I will pass on this message on my community page as well and make sure that nobody shops from this business. I had a great experience shopping at this grocery store! The store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with a wide variety of fresh produce, pantry items, dairy, and international products. The fruits and vegetables were especially fresh and neatly displayed.

Customer service was excellent—staff members were friendly, helpful, and quick to answer any questions. I appreciated how easy it was to find what I needed thanks to clear signage and a logical store layout.
