De Neroâs CafĂŠ Corner of Anzac Parade & Barrodale Road, Kingsford, NSW Environment: De Neroâs is conveniently located in an elevated spot along a large footpath, offering a nice view of Anzac Parade if you choose to sit outside. There's usually ample parking nearby, and the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) is just across the road, along with other amenities. The Setting: The cafĂŠ itself isn't large, but it offers enough space to accommodate a friendly crowd. The counter is located inside, and while you can place your order directly at the counter, the staff also take orders at the tables, both inside and outside. The Staff: The staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. While communication could have been slightly better during this visit, Iâm confident that it will improve on future visits. The Food: I arrived around 11:00 AM, not overly hungry, and just wanted something to snack on with my coffee. My companion and I ordered an Egg-Sausage Roll and a Cheese Toast on brown bread. The Cheese Toast arrived as requested, on brown bread, but the Egg-Sausage Roll came on white bread, as shown in the photo. I opted for the roll. By the way, both items were on special for $12.00 each for takeaway, or $13.00 if you choose to eat in. Not a bad deal. How was it? Since I wasn't very hungry, I just had the egg (which clearly wasnât from a pre-packed 800g box) and the sausage, which helped me stick to my diet. The sausage was small and low in salt, just the way I like it. The Coffee: I actually came here primarily for the coffee, but unfortunately, it wasnât quite right this time. Perhaps it was due to the special order or simply an off day. Hereâs the breakdown: ⢠Aroma: Very faint, not much to speak of today. ⢠Acidity: The acidity was about right, but it didnât really shine because the coffee lacked a proper body. ⢠Body: There was no depth to the coffee; the acidity dissipated as soon as it hit the mouth. ⢠Transparency: The coffee was rather opaque, lacking clarity. ⢠Taste: The taste was light, with a subtle woody flavour that didnât linger. This was supposed to be a Short Black, which usually has a strong, bold flavour with well-defined characteristics (good or bad). Unfortunately, this one didnât deliver. Iâd rate it 3/10. Conclusion: I do believe De Neroâs can do much better, and because theyâre such friendly people, Iâm happy to give them another try. Perhaps it was just a mistake this time, so I wonât mention the coffee brand. The Prices: Prices are quite reasonable, and my order was slightly cheaper due to the special, at $13.00 for dining in. So, donât miss out the next time you're...
Read moreHi John!!!đđ, your Ex barista here! Urging anyone reading this NOT to support this business. This man is shady and ripped me off $20 while paying in cash. When I called regarding my missing money he tried to straight up deny the whole situation and continuously gaslit and blamed me for loosing the money that went straight from his hand to my pocket, on the call he did not let me speak about this issue and kept cutting me off, clearly has some experience belittling people just to test his luck for $20. Itâs funny that these business owners try to exploit young workers when weâre already being paid the scrapings of what your earning in a day, what a great example you have set for yourself greedy Johnđđ! A week later when I couldnât attend my shift due to personal reasons he let me go. after not paying me the $20 but agreeing to pay me back when I came in on that Sunday, I asked if I could still get my $20 and apparently I âhave to work for itâ as if it wasnât stolen. So John, I really hope $20 helped you so much, it definitely didnât help the 18 year old whoâs independent and 2000kms away from their family, but oh mind me just trying to buy food and survive! Oh and this man also doesnât provide 30 minute meal breaks to anyone. So this is pretty shady and illegal business being run. Wishing you a decline in sales đ If your thinking of applying, donât waste your time with this unorganised and...
Read moreHaving coffee on Sunday midday, yesterday, this is what was happening.
I asked the barista whether they have batch brew, and he asked me back "what?" Then I repeated twice. Instead he asked me what batch brew is he asked me about "where I come from". Then I asked other question whether they have manual brew, and he asked they dont have cold brew. The other senior barista next to him asked me the same question about "where I come from" and continued with "this is Australia, and where I come from" again..hahahaaaa..two senior male baristas dont know about batch brew and think manual brew is cold brew !! Fantastic !! Never found this moment in my life as a coffee lover.
So the tale out there is true: at this place the baristas are always right and clients are always wrong !!
And...make it worse, I cant sleep all night long coz of its caffein, the strongest caffein I ever had.
I'll never come back to this place,...
