We recently visited this casual restaurant for a quick Sunday lunch. We ordered a few dishes e.g. iga bakar Shalom (grilled beef ribs ala Shalom), baso Malang (beef meatballs and dumplings soup), Balado-style eggplant and Geprek fried chicken with rice. All dishes taste nice and authentic Indonesian staples and we especially like the beef ribs and meatballs soup (highly recommended). Their Indonesian sweet drink of cendol dawet is also good and you can ask them to reduce sugar level if you don't like it too sweet.
On second visit, we ordered grilled fish + rice set and tongseng lamb soup + rice set. Both were good, but we especially like the grilled fish with sambal sauce (highly recommended).
Place ambience is reasonable for casual restaurant in suburb like Kingsford. Service is limited but reasonable for a casual restaurant. Prices are quite good value for money in current day Sydney. You can pay with cash or V / MC with additional...
Read moreWhen you walk in here, you know right away you're in an Indonesian restaurant, downright to the music playlist. Here they have a complete menu of your fave Indo food such as Siomay Bandung (steamed fish dumpling), various Satay meats, all sorts of rice and noodles packages. Price is reasonable, but portions are on the small side for Aussies (I guess they're faithful to Indonesian portions). My favourite is the Tongseng with Lamb (Gulai Kambing). A must try! Being on the main road Anzac Pde comes with convenience and inconvenience. Convenient if you're using the light rail, it's just across the road from Kingsford stop. On a car, you'd have to look for parking on the smaller streets as you turn left...

So I ordered one portion of nasi goreng. The nasi goreng was spicy and when I glitched, the staff easily said “the mixed spice is originally spicy”; I said to her “well, you at least have to let your customer know that you are only serving a spicy nasi goreng so customer can order something else”. The staff didn’t even bother to say sorry or to offer a replacement for my order and was resume doing her work (service quality). Hope to see...
