This place is beautifully put together with an interesting menu, great decor, and an impressive range of delicious gins. Although they said they world be happy to avoid the ingredients that make me ill, and assured me that the salad I had ordered did not contain any of them, they served it with shallots. When I asked them to correct that, they apologized profusely, and brought back what looked like a fresh salad with no obvious shallots. All the lovely flavours were so good and strong, I ate most of it before I found shallots were deeper in the bowl. I don't know if they were left there or placed there. The waitstaff were profusely apologetic again, but I was very ill for the next 2 days of my much needed Bundeena holiday, and am still moderately unwell a week later. They refunded the cost of the basic salad (not the extra i had paid for the salmon they added). I spoke with the owner 2 days later who kindly offered us a complimentary meal. I declined because I do not trust their kitchen. She also offered me a bottle of wine or gin which I declined because I felt too rattled to accept. I accept that is always risky for me to eat out, but I don't expect or accept that it should come back with the ingredient hidden in the food whether by carelessness or indifference, or utter disregard for my health. If you have no problems like mine, this would be a good place to eat. If you have any concerns, I would recommend you eat elsewhere. I ate very well in 2 other places in bundeena for the...
Read moreWe ordered lamb shawarma, margarita pizza and kings breakfast . Completely unsatisfied with all food items. Lamb shawarma the thickest bread doesn’t even look like a proper shawarma, and a salad that just did not go with the meal. Margarita pizza that was supposed to be wood fired. Apparently it’s still fresh dough, it was undercooked, too thick, and the wrong ratio of tomato to cheese. It’s not even close to a real pizza. Store(coloes) bought pizza would have been better! Like seriously! Breakfast was not even close to average. That’s how bad it actually was. The hash brown was undercooked and you could taste dirty oil. We gave the undercooked pizza back and told them we didn’t want it, they cooked it anyway gave it back and charged us for it. The only thing I think we liked was the biscoff latte. What surprises me is how busy this place is ? Come on guys lift your game! you can’t keep relying on that you’re the only place open early and tourists.. Your shop is busy and must be making enough $ to review your food items. And up the quality! Total waste of money! Thought we’ll be getting a good experience, but it was the opposite. Service was bad, staff unapologetic, nothing good really. Felt unsatisfied when we left and we would not recommend this...
Read moreWe recently had lunch here. There is a small menu which I hoped meant that all food would be done well. Ordering was simple and food was delivered quickly. We ordered the vegetable stack and a chicken pesto bagel. The chicken pesto came out as a toasted sandwich, bread not a bagel and without the pickle and crisps as stated on the menu, I was also given a dirty knife covered in crumbs for the vegetable stack. When I went in to ask for a clean knife, I asked about the bagel and was told "no, that comes as a toastie", I let it be as it wasn't a huge deal, just different to what we ordered. The toastie was average tasting, 5/10, nothing special. The vegetable stack was presented nicely, although spinach leaves were sort of dumped on top.The stack consisted of partly cold and undercooked roast potatoes, sweet potato, pumpkin (hard stalk left on), and a few other vegetables. It was soaked with balsamic vinegar which hid the lack of flavour of any of the vegetables, but was not pleasant to eat at all. We ate as much as possible due to hunger, not because it was enjoyable food. Hopefully staff take this feedback on rather than blaming the customer or making excuses as they have done with...
