A little restaurant tucked away in-between a small strip of streetside shops. There is limited parking off the street outside the resturant. A surer bet for parking would be at the nearby vet/pizzeria. Indoor and outdoor seating options available.
Ordered the: Potato with coriander ($16.99): The potatoes were indeed fried however, they were not crispy texture-wise. Nonetheless, the seasoning was on point! It was the best combination of coriander/garlic/olive oil/lemon juice/salt all tossed together. Definitely a better and more tastier take on your usual potato wedges that's for sure! Chicken mansaf ($26.99): very generous portion of yogurt, rice and chicken alike. The rice was subtly seasoned. I just wished the chicken breasts were perhaps chargrilled just to add an extra depth of flavour to this traditional dish. I love for all of my mansafs to be overloaded with mixed nuts and when I asked the waiter if I could have extra on the side to add as I go, she kindly brought out a small bowl for me free of charge. This dish easily fed two adults and we had enough leftovers for 1 take away box also. Lamb and beef shawarma ($10.99): the meat was flavoursome and not overcooked. The roll's filling could have included more quantity-wise as it was quite thin. You’ll definitely need to order other dishes as this is quite little for...
Read moreLet me start with being objective, the food we had at this place was beautiful. However, there were couple of issues people must be aware of: We have been kicked out of the table, because a waiter told us the table we offered and sat at was booked and he forgot about it. This MUST never happens in any decent restaurant. I was about to leave but my family asked me to stay and change the table. We have been given some dishes we did not order. I informed a waiter and she told me that those dishes come with the main course we ordered. Nevertheless, we have been charged for them separately. This is basically the fraud. I suggest always make sure you get only what you ordered. Otherwise you would be extra charged. A waiter had no idea what we ate. I asked about some ingredients in the salad and he was unable to tell me what it was. A bit funny, really. So, I give this place 2 stars and will never...
Read moreThis small, local restaurant was recommended by a Lebanese acquaintance who, when asked "What is the best Lebanese restaurant that you know of" replied El Minieh. Having never experienced Lebanese cuisine, we were not disappointed. Met at the door by a courteous young attendant, we we taken to our table and immediately given table water, glasses and a menu. We ordered a mixed plate each plus a salad which, when presented, was like a feast. There were so many different flavours and textures which were complimented by a generous quantity of Lebanese bread. With three accompanying dips on our platter, we had flavour combinations for all the different meats. The fattoush was exceptional. The restaurant is small and even though it was a Wednesday night, it was full. Highly...
