I have held back posting my review, waiting from a response from the owners. However it has been over a week since my complaint, with no response.
My complaint is directly with the manager Matteo and how he treated me after very clear communication over an event I was hosting in their sectioned room at the back of the Camden restaurant.
After weeks of planning and emailing plus phone calls to ensure there was no confusion, we arrive to the room that was an absolute mess because of an event prior that had JUST finished (customers were still outside the door being ushered out) and then told that he won't change the room setting to how we had spoken about. I could go into detail, however for this review I won't, the owners have my email of the details of what I had asked for and what the state of the room was in. What matters most is how he spoke to me with anger and aggression, refusing to make any changes when I know very well that this restaurant caters to changing table arrangements due to photos on their site and other people's reviews with photos AND that I seen the table arrangement I had asked for the day I had come in to make the reservation. I was deeply upset that our event had now turned into an arguing match with the manager. The other families involved with setting up our event were shocked at the treatment and one parent had actually stepped in to remind him that he is represting a business and the way he is speaking to me is unacceptable. After that he caved in and removed the extra tables that weren't meant to be there. He acted like a toddler, tantruming pulling back chairs and shoving table together, lifting them out (he almost hit an employ doing this).
I had spoken or seen Matteo on 3 seperate times at the bar when ordering drinks and not once did he apologise. This man should not have the managers position in my opinion. Not once out of the 3 times I had seen him (the day I made the reservation, the day before our event when I came in to confirm seating, food and payment nor the day of the event) had he welcomed me with a smile or dealt with me kindly. He was quite rude each time, as if I was wasting his time.
The owners are very lucky to have had Elliot who saved the day by taking over and apologising to me for his managers behaviour. He dealt with us with such welcoming hospitality. The one star I'm giving is purely for the way he handled the situation and treated us on the night. If I could I'd give 0 stars for the way Matteo ruined the event for us.
It's unfortunate that I've had no response from the owners. I wanted to give them a chance to speak to me over the incident before making this permanent review. However, with no response, I don't believe any changes will be made and Matteo will probably get away with what he did. Read moreI attended the restaurant for the first time with my partner and my children to celebrate my daughter’s 16th Birthday. While the food was great. Sadly, everything else was not. The table service was terrible. We waited over 20 minutes once seated to see if we wanted to order drinks. Drinks came out about 10 mins after we ordered our food/drinks. Food took an hour to come out, it was hard not to notice others around us, that came to the restaurant after us, or ordered after us, received their food well before we did. I can only assume it’s because they had little kids (our youngest was 16) While I don’t fault that logic and wanting to keep kids pleased, as kids to the left and right of our table were running around the restaurant, while another threw up twice on the floor. None on this is at fault of the staff. For parents reading this, if you haven’t taught your child restaurant etiquette, don’t take them out. Teach them that running around and between tables isn’t okay and clean up the food your kid drops on the floor. I also want to note that when we arrived, a table near us was empty that had left over dishes after someone finished their meal, was left on the table the whole time we were there, almost 2 hours. Please get some music in the restaurant.

I would expect that in a take away not a restaurant that is pricey. My hubbies steak was ordered med rare and it was over cooked. Music was too load. The restaurant echos because of the high ceilings so it is hard to hear your conversation with friends. Food was very average especially for the price. Garlic bread was hard and too crunchy. The only meal my hubby enjoyed was the bruschetta and that is not a meal. Parmesan cheese did not seem fresh. My meal was not nice at all. Did not have any atmosphere especially considering it is Christmas.We have been there a total of 5 times and this time after I booked my husband asked why did I book here and I said because it was convenient he was not impressed I booked there, he has always been disappointed with the restaurant and the food.
