My friend made a booking for 9 people, for her 30th. On the night, we arrived for the booking only to find out the restaurant was actually CLOSED with this hand written notice on the front door.
This was an extremely disappointing and frustrating situation. We then had to organise a last minute booking for 9 people on a Saturday evening, which as you can imagine was extremely stressful. Luckily, we were able to find a booking at Jounieh in Walsh Bay where the food and service were impeccable!
Now, in this day and age, why would a business think a handwritten note explaining their situation was an adequate form of communication? If the restaurant is closed, the online booking system should not be taking bookings or, at the very least, notifying all future bookings of the closure. This notice should have also been posted on instagram for people to know. The restaurant is also showing as open on Google, and this is false!
If you have a booking at Fauna in the near future, please check that the restaurant is actually open prior to arriving.
My friends and I will never dine at this restaurant after...
Read moreI recently visited Fauna last night for their Tuesday night special - $10 margarita and $10 steak, intrigued by their Instagram post. Despite the promise of a great deal, my experience left much to be desired. Upon arrival, despite a very small dining room/space and minimal customers, the waitstaff responsible for the front dining room seemed disengaged. It took considerable effort to grab his attention for service - at one point, I politely held my hand up just to let him know that I'm ready to order and he looked me in the eye and continued to conversate with his lady colleague. When I inquired about the special, the response was disappointingly dismissive and condescending, he said - "it's all in the menu." To make matters worse, the steak option was only available for purchase in whole, at the price of $150. This lack of transparency regarding the promotion was frustrating and off-putting. Would not be going back - mainly due to the staff and...
Read moreWe were slightly late to our booking however we were met with a warm welcome and a chill and ambiance that relaxed the stress of disorganisation.
We were seated and immediately waited on with class to the point that I didn’t even know we were being asked what drinks we wanted. (my non posh brain)
Menu is user friendly with enough choice to hope you chose the right dish.
Not only was the food delivered reasonably fast but the flavours were explosive and catered to the palette.
Personal favourite was the tomahawk steak - and the spaghetti carbonara
Evening was topped off with a tiramisu to DIE for - sweet coffee tones balanced so well with a generous topping of cocoa - definitely a home made recipe - so hats off the the chef!!
The night ended with such a wholesome conversation with the owner followed by a super smooth yet Spicey tequila.
Would definitely recommend a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night dine in for sure!!
Can’t wait for...
