Fish & Chix - Eastgardens — Restaurant in Sydney

Stopped by Fish & Chix for a quick meal and ordered the grilled fish with chips and garden salad 🐟🍟🥗. The staff were friendly and service was quick, which is always appreciated. 👍

The food was decent, but nothing that really wowed me. The portion size for the chips and salad was a bit small, which might leave some diners wanting more — especially if you’re expecting a filling plate.

The grilled fish had a nice texture and was served with a slice of lemon 🍋 (always a good touch), but still felt like it needed a bit more seasoning to bring out the flavour. Could just be a one-off, but it didn’t hit the mark for me this time. 😐

With plenty of food options around Eastgardens, I don’t think I’d come back unless I was short on time or craving something light. 🚶‍♂️

I had a really disappointing experience at Fish & Chix Eastgardens. I ordered a mix platter and an extra fish fillet, expecting a decent meal with reasonable service. However, we were only given one tiny tartare sauce for the entire meal for two people.

When I politely asked for an extra sauce (since we had an additional fish fillet), the staff member was extremely rude and dismissive, insisting that I pay extra. It wasn’t about the money—it was the attitude and lack of customer service that made the experience frustrating.

For a place that serves seafood platters, you’d expect better portioning of condiments and at least some level of customer care. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome and overcharged for something that should be standard. Definitely won’t be...

Bought the fish, chips and drink meal for my 3 yr old and asked for lemonade. Was given energised Mountain Dew which has high amounts of caffeine. Unfortunately we Opened the can before we realised. When I took it back to say I asked for lemonade and was given an energy drink for my child, I was rudely told that this was normal Mountain Dew. The rude owner/manager then told me to prove to him that it was different to other Mountain Dew! He then went on to make a joke about it with the next customer....
