Franky & Co — Restaurant in Sydney

A friend bought a baked ricotta cheesecake from this company and was told there were no nuts. We ate the cake and my son who is anaphylactic to nuts had a reaction and we had to administer the EpiPen. Originally I thought it was this store but it was from Norwest. They get all there cakes delivered from the same place. I called this store and they had NO idea what the ingredients of the cake were, nor did they want to help me. They just told me to call the head office via the contact page on the website. So I spoke to the lady at the head office and she told me the cake had ALMOND MEAL !!! She said the ingredients are on the box in the store. Clearly miscommunication between head office and shop owner. This is a life threatening condition and I’m so disappointed and MAD that this could have happened. People have trust in the shop when they ask if there are allergy foods in a cake. I guess for us we will no longer buy cakes at any store. Now I have zero trust. My son could have died from eating this cake. If you have nut allergy do not eat from this franchise !!! Had canolies from here felt they were chewy and didnt have that crunch as if they were frozen and not freshly made, gave thembenefit of doubt and tried donuts tastes stale also as if they were frozen and bot soft. Go there to try savory as heard the sausage rolls are nice soi tried the pies then asked if i wanted it warmed up. My thoughts as to why would want a cold pie was interesting, but why werent they warm inthe first place so obviously had to wait for it to be warmer up . Which makes me question are they fresh?and by the taste of everything i have tried its all frozen goods. The pie was tasty but when got back to eat them there was no sauce wasnt offered assuming they would be included but wasnt. All in all everyone has different experiences. I havent enjoyed mine yet. I went today, Tuesday 22/4/25 at 1.45pm to buy a coffee and a cake and the girl behind the counter kept playing with her phone, ignoring me, then still with her eyes fixed on her phone tried to serve me without looking my eyes, so I told her I would go elsewhere, which I did. I went to Ompresso where the service was with a smile and the coffee excellent. I used to love Frankies but after this experience you have lost my smdaily business and I will be telling everyone of my experience. Terrible bottom of the barrel service.
