I'd wanted to try this place for breakfast for a long time. It looks great and is in a great location. It's a hard one to review though. The service was friendly and quick and the coffee was good (they use Campos) but the food was sort of disappointing. The flavours were there but the combinations didn't work. We had the vegan breakfast bowl (not because we're vegan, it just sounded good) and the eggs Benedict. In the vegan bowl the ratio was completely off, there was a tonne of beans, edamame and black beans, and a mountain of spinach and not enough of the amazing tasting mushrooms and scrambled pumpkin tofu. There was a tiny bit of pickled beets. In the end I struggled working my way through the endless beans. It was unbelievably garlicky which didn't bother me but might not work for everyone. The eggs Benedict was served in a croissant which doesn't work. Stick to English muffins. Croissants are amazing and so are eggs Benedict but not together. Good flavours over all but the combinations didn't work. It's also very expensive. Saying that I'd go back and try the evening menu which...
Read moreJozo is the perfect venue! Perfect in location; perfect is size and dynamic; perfect for a casual brunch time coffee or corporate event or birthday celebration!
This place has utility and can cater to any request.
Jozo became my regular during the lockdown period when I’d go an satisfy my developing appetite after doing a few laps of Centennial Park with a brisket roll and, eeek, one or two very well made Mojitos (because they specialize in cocktails too!)
Simon and Aleis are consummate hosts and have a very interesting backstory spending over a decade working on the super yachts in and the Mediterranean Sea. They’ve bought their Mediterranean secrets to embellish upon Sydney and are always up for a chat.
Jozo is dog friendly for the pooch-owners out there; I do believe I saw a cat on a leash there, once or twice, too.
Jozo is at the top of my list for cafes/restaurants to frequent when I’m showing friends around and shouldn’t be walked past!
In fact, it’s very difficult to walk...
Read moreWorst breakfast I’ve had in Sydney! Firstly, I ordered French toast (the person that took my order did not ask if I wanted to add addition bacon but proceeded to add it anyway, what a way to cheat customers into paying more for something they didn’t ask for). Secondly, just look at the meal that looks like it was prepared by a kid, overly decorated (probably to make up for poor taste) with ingredients that didn’t make sense together. Nutella & Bacon?? What a terrible idea! We ate the food anyway because we do not like wasting food, but lost our appetite for the day! It is overpriced for what it is and what poor service! Will not return and do not recommend to anyone! Ambience is great but food is absolutely mediocre here and service...
