Changing my rating from a 4 to a 2 and here’s why

I’ve been coming to Greenacre Gloria Jeans for a while and originally gave them a 4 star rating but after one too many frustrating experiences I’m dropping it to a 2. It’s just not good enough anymore.

My usual order is a large creamy hot cocoa with a single shot of coffee and no froth. Sounds simple but 99 percent of the time they get it wrong. Either they ring it up as a mocha truffle (which tastes different no matter how many times I’m told it’s the same) or they load it with foam even when I clearly say no froth. I’ve watched them make it. They over froth the milk and just pour it all in without letting it settle. Half the cup ends up feeling light and airy. It’s frustrating.

My partner usually gets a flat white and while he enjoys it even his sometimes comes with froth which it’s not supposed to have. It feels like a lot of places have forgotten how coffee is actually meant to be made. Flat whites should have little to no froth and if you ask for no froth that should be respected not dismissed.

I get that my order isn’t super basic but it’s also not outrageous. I’m not asking for extras or substitutions just to be heard and for the staff to take that little bit of care. When they do get it right I genuinely enjoy it which is the annoying part because it shows they can do it.

In this economy where everything’s expensive and buying coffee feels like a bit of a luxury customers deserve to get what they paid for. It’s not too much to...

Went here to order 2x Acai Bowls ($18 each). While the premise is clean, very comfortable to sit and the food is very delicious, the Acai Bowls were lackluster. As we paid for $18 each, well, given that it is a bowl - you would expect the bowl to be filled throughout. What we received were Acai Bowls that only had the outside covered, while the inside is completely empty. Essentially, the bowl is hollow. The photos here will show you that. Paying $18 for a hollow bowl is not a good feeling. Naturally, I went and asked the staff why this may be the case, and the response I received was: "This is how we make them."

If you are in the area and is looking for drinks and cafe food, sure this place is nice enough. $18 for an Acai Bowl (pricy, by the way), and it is empty and hollow inside? That feels like a scam, and certainly not worth anyone's hard earned money.

Take a drive down to other Acai places nearby for Acai that actually layers their sauce throughout, generous toppings and certainly will not provide you a hollow...

I come here so often they know my order yet today I was served by a very impolite ,atrocious , disgusting individual and her employment should be reconsidered I was served by a short stubby , short hair individual I always order strawberry V with the V separate she handed me my drink with a spit of flavouring and when I asked for more since that wasn’t a generous amount she impolitely said “pay $2 more and I’ll put more” with back and forth of not wanting to put more she said “you can sit and wait in the drive through” lol and started swearing in her language to her coworkers she lost the battle of waiting and deciding to be petty and PUT WATER and insists that the drink melted and she refilled the flavouring after giving her attitude (which I shouldn’t have to! do your JOB!) then decided to grab the syrup and pump in one drink and hand it back to me and after asking to put in the other drink she said she already did already when I witnessed only one drink being filled 😭 absolutely...
