Grandma Moses... I had a terrible experience when I went to Grand Mimosa's Bakery. I spent months just building up the confidence to bring up these memories just to write this review. It really was traumatizing inducing. tramua. So I went to Grandma Mosa's once and I saved up all of my pocket money. And one day I finally had enough! So I stood up on my bed, and went. You don't know my address. I brought 5 dollars and 50 cents. A true fortune. And I thought "there is NO way a bagel is gonna be more than that." I wanted a choc chip bagel. So so badly, I longed for this bagel. But alas, no matter how hard I looked I saw none. I figured my lack of glasses may have been the problem, so I asked the lady. She said there were chocolate croissants instead. I reluctantly agreed. The woman went click click click to get the croissant, but when she returned, she revealed to me the price of this choco lately treat. A profound feeling of dread washed upon me. The hairs on my back stood up straight. Goosebumps rolled across my skin. 6 dollars 50. 6 dollars and 50 cents was the price of this deviled egg of a croissant. "Nevermind", I muttered with the last of my strength. "I'll have a cookie instead' I whimpered, pointing to the M&M cookie on the shelf. I must have looked like such a mutt. A mutt. The dog. The first definition, not the second. The cookie was disappointment immeasurable. A waste of my time, money, and CASH. I saved up for YEARS to get that 5 dollars 50 and the cookie did NOT deliver due satisfaction. It ruined my whole month. (I'm sure it was more than a month) 5/5 stars...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just encountered the kindest man here! We heard about the store and finally could visit to grab a bagel (which Iāve been craving for too long - most places in Sydney donāt do the bagel dough right imo). We ordered our bagels and coffee (which were amazing!) but I was still looking around curious about other breads and pastries they had. All a sudden, a guy comes up greeting me very friendly, and as soon as I asked about the cinnamon babka bread (a sweat braided bread originated from Jewish communities), he insists that I take one with me. I tried to pay but he wouldnāt let me. Instead explained the name and how to eat it. He then went on to be kind and friendly to every other person in the store. What a great way to start a Sunday. Great authentic bagel and bread and an act of kindness to carry with you. I know I will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePrices have gone up. Understandable though, as a result of Sydney's crazy inflated prices.
I was left with a bad impression of this brand initially from buying them prepackaged from the supermarket. But upon trying them out fresh, I have to say they are like totally different products. The ones at the supermarket are dense but these ones are light. Toasted them at home and they are the most delicious ones I've had in Sydney (I haven't had many though š), but still not as good as the ones from America.
Didn't wait long to be served, prices are reasonable, and there are also a small collection of other baked goods to choose from. Street parking is accessible if you're not there during peak hour otherwise it's a clear zone being on...
