The bar staff were not really happy to sure drinks, the bar was always empty and the buzzer that they are meant to carry was always left at the bar, so you have to wait until they are finished what they are doing and see you to be able to be served. The manager was pleasant and helpful, often filling in for the bar lady and serving a drink when needed. Sandeep seems to want to go home early, pulling all the chairs away from the machines 1 hour before closing time, this is a rude gesture to clear the club early. The PA system is very loud in the outdoor section, the person who dose the announcement puts the microphone in his months and then tries to talk, loud distorted announcement. The final announcement that should of been announced were not. The call for last drinks or alerting the pattens to the club shutting would of been a nice, thats what clubs normally do, so the patrons know to start ending their night and leave. Not this place, they expect you to know what time they close. When I asked why no announcement was made, I was rudely told "bars close".. So agin I stated its normal bar policy to call “last drinks” 30 min before you close the bar, again I was aggressively told "BARS CLOSED" the way he said it was as if I was annoying him. He was aggressive, dismissive, rude and disrespectful the way he spoke to me. I took a photo of the aggressive door man, I waved good bye wile taking a photo. I was once again aggressively spoken to, this time he started screaming at me, walking towards me screaming, as I made my way for the door "Whats the video for", Well now he will know what the image is for, its for this review.. I literally had to run for the car with him screaming at me, it felt like he wanted to attack me, and if I had stayed, I think he would of wanted to challenge me in some way of form because I took a photo.. Anyway I made it out alive, won $500 on the pokies overall, Their was a few of us playing $10 a hit late at night. When people are playing your money making machines, why would you be rude to them? aggressive to them ? Management take note, you just lost two local high rollers.. Anyway I went to the leagues, they were happy to see me, friendly, open, accommodating, and the first machine I played I won over a grand. So the night worked out well after...
Read moreFirst visit to a Star Buffet. Our Seniors card got us a welcome discount off full price. Bottomless soft drinks costs $3 extra at entry. Cold water is free, self-serve at the bar. Quite impressed at the wide range of dishes. Layout of buffet a bit strange as it is on different carousels spread over several rooms. Not all sections we're open when we were there (Tues lunch), eg no carvery. Separate sections for salads, desserts, Asian etc. Dishes have clear labels so you know what you are looking at. Nice little sushi train to grab what you fancy. There is a noodle har where a chef will cook you a custom noodle dish with ingredients you choose. Plenty of variety in the dishes at each carousel. Everything from fish to veges to chicken to soups to roasts to salads etc Self-serve coffee machine and tea facilities in a separate area near the desserts were very welcome. There were two self serve soft serve ice cream machines with syrups etc to complement a good range of desserts including cakes, mousses, crumble and cut fruit.. Pleasant, helpful staff. Dirty plates were cleared promptly from the table. Very good value. The food quality might not be consistent. When my companion remarked to a neighbouring couple that she was enjoying the food, they replied that it was not good that day, and on busy days was much better and much fresher. We did have to agree on at least one count. When we visited, the ready made dim sims/dumplings were dry and tough, so they had clearly been kept there too long. I imagine that on busy days the food in the buffets turns over and is replenished much faster, so the food tends to he fresher. Hence it might be a good idea to visit on busier days such as the weekend to get the best of this Star Buffet. And there is absolutely no excuse for you to be at all hungry when you leave. We will certainly be...
Read moreI believe my membership card is behind the front desk..I would like it destroyed.I will not attend a club that is in place to honour our fallen soldiers,to allow their security guard whilst casually speaking with male members to use profanities.Where is the respect for our diggers? As I told this guard he is not working at one of the grubby pubs up the road he is in a rsl and should have respect. His response was " what's it to you,I wasn't even talking to you ?" By allowing this vile person to use such language you are condoning his feral language and therefore disrespecting our soldiers. This is the same grub that a year before when I had a back injury he tried to bully and intimidate me for walking past the reception to use the toilet(like all other members do). I did make a complaint to S.L.E.D as he refused to present his licence which he must do when asked by a member of the public so you might want to advise this man to conduct himself like a professional in future and abstain from running his mouth. I'm happy to have my membership cancelled as I couldn't even eat in your bistro after watching your head chef picking his nose while on a break once. If your non Australian/New Zealand staff cant show our diggers the respect they deserve, then replace them with Aussies and...
