"Ordered fried rice here tonight, and safe to say I was disgusted at the cockroach that was in my food. I was even more disgusted by the lack of customer service that you provided upon us returning it, with your staff denying the possibility that you cooked it into the rice. No apology, or attempt at compensating, just a very reluctant refund. If the food wasn't enough to turn me off, your customer service really did. I am appalled." - This is the comment that was left on their public Facebook page.

"Attention everyone who see this post. We are Gu Thai Cuisine at Chipping Norton. I would like to speak on our behalf regard this incident. The young lady came in order only 1 dish egg fried rice cost $8. How do we cook it? Firstly, we must get hot steam rice from rice cooker by scoop rice a bit by bit not make the rice stick together as rice ball. We would see a cockroach as you complain, isn't it? Our chef break egg in the wok add steam rice and add seasoning sauce in it. Then must stir fry mix it well to make all the ingredient blend. The chef would see the cockroach right? Because she only cook this dish for you only very small portion. My question are? Why the cockroach that your are complaint still in a good condition? With whole body and legs why it not break up in pieces after has been stir fry in wok? When you complaint we did refund your money $8 because we do not want to make a big deal even we are not believe in it. We do not argue back to you because we think you want only $8 refund back. That should be the end of drama, isn't it? Why you post on FB and tag us? Why you want us have bad reputation? Where did you catch the cockroach from later and put it on top of the rice? Still got 100% body! Please see attach Certificate from Liverpool council. We got public health inspector come in every 6 months.(unknow date when health inspector will turn up) We got 4 stars indicate as very good. Please see our pest control record from Mr Sam OHP who do service my shop every 3 months. The cockroach that big in your picture must see be live every where inside my shop, isn't it? Gu Thai Cuisine is OPEN kitchen NOT CLOSED kitchen it mean we are very sincere and want our customer to see how we are doing inside our kitchen. I can see some people already shared this WRONG STORY. Please share again the TRUTH STORY. If you are still doubt please feel free to come in at Gu Thai Cuisine. I am happy to show your our record and all certificates. Please use your best judgement. Gu Thai management smile emoticon P.S Please do not delete this post."
I am still in disbelief at their response to this situation. Gu Thai management outright denied this situation happened, accused me of telling lies and accused me of fabricating this situation to hurt their reputation. I am absolutely appalled at their service. They have lost a customer that until now...
Read moreThis place is highly recommended , I tried Several Thai returants before, but this place is by Far the best in western Sydney, and may be in whole metropolitan Sydney. I think the secret is the cook, she is a Lady that cook the meals like it is home made. I personally love the green Cuarry and the panang Cuarry with chicken. The lunch deal is awesome too. The staff is very Friendly, and service is very prompt. Even on Fridays when it is too busy, they will still get the meals ready quick. They...
