Hudsons Bakery — Restaurant in Sydney

Bought a pack of the chocolate chip cookies at the St Ives Market this morning. This cookie takes like there was something wrong with the recipe. It had an off-putting taste, almost like there was a strange chemical or ingredient. There was also no signage to say it was gluten free. It was only afterwards when we read the label that we saw this was the case. However, I have eaten nice tasting, gluten free cookies before so I am sure this was not the reason. Unfortunately, we could not even eat half a cookie and ended up throwing them out - this hurt as it cost $13 for 4 cookies!! Looking at other reviews, I wonder if there was something wrong...

As someone who suffers from gluten and dairy restricted diets, breads and pastries essentially become things of faded memory, as most mainline producers leave much to be desired by way of taste and willingness to live post consumption. My mother has brought be several items from Hudsons including one of their bread loaves, and these things are nothing short of miraculous. Soft and crunchy when toasted and very light, normally GF bread is s dense it starts to shift other items in its orbit, but not this bread. I love Hudson’s! The customer service is amazing and their food is 10/10! It is so nice to be able to get a turkey baguette, a cheese stick and old school bread that is fluffy and soft all while being GF! I’ve often take their cheese stick on international flights and it has saved me! The attention to detail and thought behind their products is fantastic! I have met the owner a few times now and she is just so lovely as well as all of the other staff! Do not miss Hudson’s! I have no qualms about travelling here as it...
