We come for dinner and my husband ask for beer he like but they don't have it. Nice looking men was served us behind the bar but his not very friendly from start we arrived untill we completed our dinner. He seem doesn't fit for his role. I have $25 voucher can use for dine but his not excepted. When I paid our dinner use my card eftpos machine was very slow. Instead criticised my card wasn't good enough he could say sorry to take a while to process. My responded I never have problem using my card. Food was ok chef very friendly but wasn't enjoy and don't feel welcome when they have costumers service like that.

We came here a few weeks after renovations. The place has been really well-done with a modern warm feel. It was quite busy on the night we went however we managed to get a seat after a short wait. The food was mostly fantastic. The truffle fries were spot-on and the lamb was cooked perfectly. The salt and pepper squid was uninspired, lacking the flair of the other dishes. The staff were nice however the general service needed a little more friendliness. Still a great place for a catch-up, drink and feed.

The staff at The Mill are all very friendly. The restaurant was quite busy on the night we visited and was a bit too noisy with all the loud music and people shouting over it. The tables are quite small, so it is best to not order too much like we did. The pollo pizza was very ordinary, the duck pie was good, the truffle fries were really tasty and the highlight of our meal was the kfc which was so good that our son kept eating them, even though he normally won't eat veggies.

I wish I could give this a better review, but I have never been more disappointed in my life, and I want to preface this by saying I have never left a bad review. I hate saying bad things about people and experiences and would rather stay quiet.

My family and I decided to come for dinner on a saturday night, booked at 6.30 for a 7.15 dinner booking. First, we walked through the door and weren’t greeted at all so attempted to find our own table before being told by the lady working at the bar that they “don’t check bookings online after 5pm” which led to an awkward silence of us not knowing if we were welcome to sit or not…

Following on, we finally ordered our food and had 3 small groups that ordered around $70 of food and drinks each. The food was fast to come out but the drinks hadn’t yet so we began eating, within my second piece of pizza I found a long black hair sticking out from the side, hopefully assuming it may have been my own i began to pull on it until I realised it was attached to the pizza…. upon looking into the kitchen i noticed one chef giving another chef a back massage, and no hair nets.

I sat there for around 20 minutes contemplating whether I should say something to the staff or just forget about it and cut my losses although I was turned off my food. The told the next waitress to attend my table and apologised for the complaint, in which she took my meal back to the kitchen, which led to all the staff starting at my table. Around 5 minutes later the manager came up to my table and said, and i’m quoting “i’m sorry about the pizza guys, do you want a brownie”

that’s it. no offer for a new pizza, no offer for a refund. nothing. an offer for a brownie that’s half the price i just paid for my meal. upon declining the offer for a brownie he just walked away?

10 minutes later we still hadn’t recieved our drinks so someone else on table went up to ask politely about our drinks. the response was “sorry our computer was broken and they didn’t come up” and then our drinks we brought out to the table after another 10 minutes.

i never leave bad reviews because i think everyone deserves understanding and kindness. but this was appalling and i would never recommend this restaurant. customer service and listening to your customers to provide a great experience clearly isn’t priority here… and neither...

Below at he bottom is the five star review I gave over a month ago and it has now gone from five down to one star.

The following is what I sent directly to The Mill on their website over two weeks ago and no respopnse.

THE MILL REVIEW In the recent past, I have given The Mill 5 stars on Google review. A friend and I have been coming to The Mill at least 6 times in the last 3 months, usually on a Monday for the steak special. A few weeks ago my steak was raw in parts and overcooked in other parts, I didn't say anything as my friends was good. The next time we came the following Monday I ordered the chicken salad with dressing on the side. There was so much watercress it was difficult to find the chicken. We came back the next Monday and I ordered the chicken salad again and asked for no watercress but forgot to say dressing on the side. The salad was drowned in dressing. More importantly, my friend's steak was terrible this time, it was meant to be medium but was very rare and mainly grizzle. This time we mentioned it to the waitperson who said she would get it replaced. It came back with a piece of grizzel the size of the portion he had eaten. I overheard the people sitting behind us having the same complaint. My friend was offered a glass of wine in compensation, but after waiting 15 minutes for it we got up and left. As we were leaving I noticed another couple with their steaks which looked very good. In years gone by I was a regular at the Mill Hill as I live locally.

THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL REVIEW Had dinner there tonight and the food was excellent. My friend ordered the Monday night special which was steak. Unlike a number of places who reduce the quality of the steak on specials night, the steak was top quality and the cook was perfect. I had the calamri which was great, cooked perfectly, tender and hot. The staff were friendly and attentive, even when my friend was a bit obnoxious at times.(just joking) I have been there a number of times (with grandkids) and have never found fault with the venu. Will definately be back again. The only negative was that we made a booking which had...

Save your hard-earned money and go somewhere else! The kitchen since changing owners have new Chefs and I use that word quite loosely (more like cooks). Ordered their top steak ($38) many a time. Always over cooked and the quality I could get a better steak at Aldi. I honestly think they defrost their steaks and buy the cheapest they can find, overcook them and charge you $38 for the privilege. Now let’s get to the wait staff (one girl in particular named Bee or something). I walked in a couple of days ago and asked her to make an espresso martini (not too much to ask, one would think). She responds with a Nahhh, sorry don’t do that here! What you mean you're too lazy to mix a cocktail rather than pour it from a carbonated tap! Her attitude was appalling and she should reconsider working in hospitality with her foul attitude! The venue is run by absolute Muppets! Give this place a wide berth unless you like overpaying for overcooked frozen steaks with a huge side of attitude when being served. I actually wouldn’t even call it being served, I’d call the service...
