Edit: The host left us a negative review on Airbnb as a retaliation to this one and is harassing us via messages. Not exactly the professional attitude one would expect for the money we paid. Definitely not the kindest of hosts.
Fancy art-inspired design of the rooms is great (for the most part). They leave things like books and records that take up valuable space that is actually needed for your belongings during your stay. Whether or not a place has a record player (a low quality one at that) is not important, and feels more like a silly frilly reason to upcharge than a practical and smart thing to offer for a temporary stay. The art is nice, and it’s a nice thought to have a picture frame with the artists name and info about the work, but hang it on the wall instead of leaving it on the nightstand where it just gets knocked off. The most annoying thing is there are zero places to hang up long clothing items such as coats, dresses and pants. Only drawers which during a short stay are not ideal (and had hairs in them when we arrived). We wanted to hang our dresses & suits so they wouldn’t get wrinkled but the only place you are able to do this is in the damp bathroom. All of the beds being on wheels was also super inconvenient. It wouldn’t have been an issue if we had been able to lock the wheels or secure the bed to the wall during our stay somehow. Couldn’t sit in bed to watch TV without the bed rolling away from the wall. Also our bistro table top wasn’t secured to the base; it almost fell on our feet when we tried to scoot it over a tiny bit. The bathroom is swanky, but impractical as the water splashes all over when you shower and the poor ventilation in the room means your towels and floor mats never fully dry. Also the washing machines are very very loud….The location was top though. Also, the fire alarm went off during our stay randomly and the host didn’t even check in with us to make sure we were ok, nor did it seem there was a system in place that would notify them that it happened. We would recommend booking here if you need to be in the area and don’t mind the aforementioned details...
Read moreThe Newlife apartments in Bondi provided me with a Sydney safe-haven for almost 4 months. The manager, Vickie, went out of her way to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible, and made me feel really welcome. The apartments are beautifully decorated, expertly appointed, and with kitchen and laundry facilities that are top knotch. My one suggestion is to add a clothes drying hoist - that would be a great addition!
The location of the apartments is fantastic for exploring famous Bondi, and also close to bus and train transport for going further afield. Having one of the best Westfields in the country, with its 3 supermarkets, just up the road, was also a huge convenience.
I cannot recommend this accommodation...
Read moreI stayed at these apartments a few times and the check in codes were always emailed + sms to me prior to check in. On may 26th 2021 I received no check in code, I called multiple times and text. The lady who finally called me back nearly 2 hours later was rude and still now I have received only rudeness, no apology that they failed to send me check in details. I drove two hours to stay here for a meeting in Sydney but as I couldn't check in I missed my meeting and had to drive two hours home. Bookings.com and this company refuse to issue a refund or apologize that someone on their team didn't do their job properly. The apartment has always been nice but the customer service from them...
